That photo gave me a some serious Goldeneye 007 on the N64 vibes, its like he unlocked the cheat code to get the golden car to go with the golden gun.
Until now I didnt think it was possible to make that thing look more low-poly.
The only way he could have made it worse for himself is if he had an RI plate. Mass residents have never been shy about letting people know how they feel about them (for better, or very worse 😅)
I just realized I've always thought of it as past time, I guess I usually see it written as "pastime". Past time doesn't make any sense at all, the way I've always thought of it. Neat!
Jaroje was so worried that he tried to trade in the Cybertruck, but with no luck. He said he received a call and a text from a Tesla representative saying the company can't take the truck back, even after sending them the hateful sticker.
"He confirmed with the text message that Tesla is not accepting Cybertruck trade-ins at this moment," Jaroje said. He hopes the community will set aside judgment and be open to differences.
The vehicles are so bad that even the company that makes them won't buy them.
I hate Elon as much as the next guy but there's no need to spread blatant misinformation.
Cybertruck MSRP: $80-100k
Ford F-150 Lightning MSRP: $50-90k
Chevy Silverado EV MSRP: $55-95k
and that is the majority of your options. Obviously cybertruck isn't near as capable as the other two and it's also an ugly piece of shit, but there's no need to make things up to diss the idiots buying them, they do it themselves.
When it was originally released the lightning started at 40k and that's what I was thinking of. Your point about the price today are fine, but there is no need to assume things.
Dude, Tesla's CEO endorsed a racist, misogynistic, transphobic and pauperophobic rapist. He shows up at AfD and FdI rallies.
You're Syrian, once they've rounded up all the poor brown people they'll come for you. After all, a god-fearing, bible-thumping, red-white-and-blue bleeding American could be given your business.
"It's not just about what happened to me. It's about everyone in this country. If you disagree, don't retaliate. Don't be violent. Don't try to hurt your neighbor. We're all human,"
I mean, if you believe that, my guy, you shouldn't have bought the nazi truck. You also definitely should not have gotten a fucking gold one. You also ABSOLUTELY shouldn't have driven it around in MASSACHUSETTS. I flip these fucks off when I see them here. I don't agree with physically threatening them, but c'est la vie I guess.
I just love that someone is complaining about people being rude to him in a state with such rude, aggressive drivers that the term 'Masshole' was invented to describe them.
Bro, as a Massachusettsan born and raised if you dare touch my primary form of expression ya gonna get a hot cuppa dunkins in the face. That'd be like banning wicked sick donuts in a rotary.
Only if you do it outside the vehicle. This actually came up years ago when I took a motorcycle course. Since you're always outside the vehicle I guess you can't flick people off.
This feels like such a thin reason to get a ticket if you ask me. A rude gesture is just a rude gesture. But... be careful out there! I feel safe enough to flip them off, but I encourage safer forms of heckling them, like pointing and laughing.
Also a chance you’ll catch one of those guys carrying in their cars - that’s their thing. No need to put yourself in the crosshairs for an unhinged person…
I hope not. The article and video were a little vague on that. Some people apparently cut him off and got out of the car to flip him off, which is a bit much IMHO.
Yeah, massholes aren't nice to anyone unless they need it. You want someone to be kind to you in Boston? Get irresponsibly drunk and start crying on the bathroom floor otherwise they're gonna tell you to shut the fuck up, fuck right on off, and get the fuck over it because they assume you can handle hearing it and may need to.
It sounds like we all agree. Despite all the rightful cybertruck hate and despite the garish gold color, this driver was not even particularly persecuted. He was just living the life of a normal Bostonian (which always includes other drivers cursing at you, cause that's what we do here).
So... This is actually just a non-story. The headline could have been "Ridiculous gold cybertruck exists in Massachusetts, driver treated normally"
Or perhaps,
"Driver of ridiculous gold cyber truck somehow still isn't getting enough attention!"
While the Cybertruck is a screaming gold color, it's for a reason. It's a billboard for the medical spa the Syrian immigrant said he worked hard to build from the ground up three years ago.
There's no billboard on the car in the article. There's likely a small sticker somewhere. This is a common practice by business owners so they can file their personal vehicle as a business expense and dodge some of their tax liability. Frankly it's a pretty shitty practice.
"That's why I came to this country. I pursued my dream. Now, I'm enjoying the free speech, but with this taking a different turn, that made me very concerned," Jaroje said.
Freedom of speech doesn't mean your free from consequences.
"It's not just about what happened to me. It's about everyone in this country. If you disagree, don't retaliate. Don't be violent. Don't try to hurt your neighbor. We're all human," he said.
He is encouraging a nazi oligarch through the purchase of what is a gross flashy display of his wealth in a time where the wealth gap has never been so wide. You're just asking for it at this point.
Freedom of speech doesn't mean your free from consequences.
This is why the current administration is beginning the removal of freedom of speech (by enforcing removal of certain words from all government forms/sites/documents)
He thinks his family isn't safe in it... Yet he continues to drive it
You drive a rolling swastika and BLARING sign of historical wealth inequality that you've literally wrapped in gold - you deserve so much more fucking hate culminating in a brief rest of your heavy head that wears the crown on the guillotine. Tone deaf, fucking ghoul.
the hypersuck isn't allowed on the road in normal countries. just because fascistan allows it doesn't mean people should tolerate this death machine on the road. I hope it totals, so maybe it should drive over some puddle or whatever stupid thing makes these explode.
At the bottom of the article, the swasticar owner makes a similar "people who disagree" argument. This is fascism we're talking about, not pizza toppings. Idiot.
Dr. Kumait Jaroje said someone put a profane sticker on his gold Cybertruck back on February 7 in Worcester. When he posted a photo of it on social media he told police he started getting threats online.
I put a post-it note on a cybertruck that said "STUPID." I bet his was similar. Fucking crybabies.
Man goes to Worcester in an expensive car, is upset it gets fucked with.
For those not from the area, Worcester has been one of the rougher cities in MA forever. It's not the worst by any stretch, but it has been going through waves of gentrification which leads to fun stories like this one as worlds collide.
I wouldn't park a gold wrapped K car parked in Worcester. But now I want to park a chalk board painted K car in Worcester. Should go exactly as you'd think.
Man, if only we were hip to what an asshole musk was a month ago. His fans could have known that buying a cybertruck was going to get negative attention. But I guess there were no signs to warn us. And really, who drives cybertrucks more than single moms living paycheck to paycheck, day laborers, and other marginalized folks? We should just assume that anyone in a gold cyber truck had zero idea what they were doing, had no intention of being an edgy dbag, and only uses it to deliver fresh produce to the local food banks.
Even if it is 10 degrees, I'll roll down the window and make a jackoff gesture. Fucking clowns. I have appointments near a Boeing office, you'll be shocked to know that more than a few Boeing employees drive Wankpanzers. Boeing planes are built to the same standards lately so it tracks.
It's the little things that give me hope... Stuff like this. Get fucked, supporters of Elon Musk.
Yes, if you drive his car, you support him. Sell it, watch the value drop overall from you and others doing it, and you'll be back on the other side of the fence.
Yah, driving a car that symbolizes the guy helping destroy the nation isn't going to win you points. Sounds like he (Syrian immigrant) bought it a couple of years too early before Elon revealed his stripes.
It's not just about what happened to me. It's about everyone in this country. If you disagree, don't retaliate. Don't be violent. Don't try to hurt your neighbor.
That's the entire point of this administration: retaliation. That's why we're here in the first place.
That's weird. I'm never threatened and harassed when driving my nazi Sturm panzer. I don't see why the ugly American equivalent would enrage people. Maybe just because it's really ugly. I could understand that.
I saw a fully hogh gloss chrome car the other day. No idea what make/model but it was a jarring sight and hard on the eyes due to reflecting the sun. I didn't feel nearly as much disdain towards the driver as I do from the photo of a gold dumpster with windows.
That goes to the museum of the 2k20s. Everyone with a sturdy key or a can of paint may leave a messsge on that time capsule. Imaging having a guarded wiki page about you the guy who painted a dick on the golden disk of these pathetic times.
The people in this thread saying "fuck him" and "he deserves it" is the reason why we're so divided. The same reason we have hate and turmoil in this country. Who gives a shit if he drives a cybertruck. Similar to the Gulf of America. Who gives a shit about the change. It'll be changed back eventually anyway.
Cybertrucks are killing people at very alarming rates (even worse than the other oversized SUVs and pickups.) If anyone drives a vehicle that endangers the lives of others then we have every right to hate them for it. Your right to swing your fists around ends where my face begins.
Are we seriously stooping to the level of our supposed betters when it comes to dealing with criticism or disagreement? Elon Musk and Trump, two individuals who have no qualms about using their influence and power to bully others into silence.
A fellow just gets harassed for driving a car that he's passionate about. Can you imagine how it feels to be constantly singled out and shunned because of something so mundane as the shape of your vehicle? The Cybertruck is a polarizing design, but should that make one a target for abuse?
The stickers on his car are just the cherry on top of this toxic behavior. It's not just harassment, it's vandalism. I can only imagine how dehumanizing and demoralizing it must be to have people's hate projected onto your property.
This incident is a perfect example of how our society has become increasingly divided and tribal. We're more likely to attack the person or the idea rather than engaging in constructive dialogue. The 'other' becomes a target, and we lose sight of what really matters - empathy, kindness, and understanding.
I'm truly sad to see this happen. The owner of the Cybertruck is not some kind of ideologue who deserves to be attacked. He's just an average person who wants to drive his car without fear of reprisal or ridicule. And what will it achieve? Will it make him think twice about his choices? I doubt it. If anything, it'll reinforce his conviction and anger.
We need to learn to treat each other with respect and dignity, even when we disagree. Harassment and intimidation are not solutions to problems; they're just symptoms of a deeper issue - our inability to listen to opposing views and engage in civil discourse.
While I agree with the General Sentinment of your comment, I think public shaming needs to be used more. If you're driving a swasticar, you should be shamed for it.
While you're joining in the pointless mud slinging about a person's choice of vehicle, the government is being dismantled, we're filling our first concentration camps and threatening to invade Canada.
The solution isn't to play the game of pointless division which got us into this mess in the first place. The people with power that are breaking our society got that power by tricking people into worrying about trivial differences within their class.
The solution to that problem isn't to continue worrying about trivial differences amongst your class.
We need to learn to treat each other with respect and dignity, even when we disagree.
They can start first if they have such a problem with it. Conservatives have been lambasting and attacking anyone who disagrees with them since the 90s. My car was vandalized at work after the 2000 election because of a bumper sticker.
Don't start a fight if you don't want to finish it
Too bad Kamala wasn't the winner. She was all about "take the high road". It seems that since she lost, people have interpreted this as "I must get as dirty as the other side to win". Sorry, I don't want to play those low, nasty games that the other side has played forever.
The right is living out their wet dream right now, in charge of almost every facet of the federal government. Unfortunately for them, that also comes with the responsibility to improve things in some way. By almost any metric you can imagine, we haven't seen much improvement. I think if they don't want to get tossed out next election, they had better start building up some wins. I do not think the public, no matter how MAGA-ly aligned will gladly accept 3.9 more years of "b-b-b-b-but Biden made the economy so bad we can't do anything".
Why was Trump before the election saying "Give me a day and I'll fix this country" and then after it saying "Well, things are real hard, but we'll give it a shot...". It's because the guy is all bark and no bite. It's a lot easier to promise all-encompassing fixes to the USA than it is to actually do them, and I think other than just blindly tearing down (expensive) federal agencies and claiming that as a win, he has no real plan other than disruption. Unfortunately for those of us in the USA that just want to live day by day, we aren't rooting for random chaos.
I think about half the voters just want to see the world burn to "own the libs" and the other half wants improvements in housing costs, food costs, improvements in wagers, worker's rights, etc. My crystal ball says we will see much more disruption and vanishingly few improvements to life for the average American, but let's find out! I'd be glad to be wrong and Trump transforms the USA into a utopia. I just don't think it's very likely.
I'm against threats and harassment. In any case even if that vehicle wasn't Musk related it still is an eyesore - equivalent to brutalism architecture - and doubly so being the colour of piss ;)
Why are people defending physical violence over a vehicle? I don't get it. Sure, he made a poor purchasing decision. No wonder, the culture war has been so successful at dividing us.
The article never suggests any physical violence, though. The problems he reported to CBS are a "hateful sticker", "threats online", "somebody tried to cut me off" and "three guys pointing the middle finger and [...] screaming at me". Not super cool either, but they're not physical violence. Those last two might even be legal, depending on the circumstances.
For anybody curious, since the article doesn't mention what the "hateful sticker" was, from a quick search it was: "NAZIS FUCK OFF".
Pretty sure the last two are not just legal, but required under MA law while merging onto any highway.
Really the bottom three, but that's just because we haven't gotten the nearly impossible to remove electrostatically charged stickers from Snow Crash yet. Soon as we get those puppies it's game on!
Physical violence? Did I miss where the dude got dragged from his vehicle and beaten?
Go out in public proudly displaying political symbols, and you should expect people to answer back with a yell or a finger. A sticker about how your car sucks. Maybe even a blast of coal-rolling exhaust. Words invite words; symbols invite symbols - no one's throwing hands, so I'd say this is just about how I'd like culture war to work.
The musk nazi stuff is recent, dude could have easily bought the cybertruck before musk started going full nazi with the mask off. We don't know anything except what the article says.
Edit: Man yall are sensitive. Unless I say Musk bad anytime it comes up, yall get the pitchforks out. Chill out, this isn't an article about Elon musk even.
Divided? That douche-whistle had so much money, he spent it on a golden turd. Not only did he divide himself, the dude put up walls to separate himself from the poors.
USA is all about class wars. No one else on the planet gives a flying fuck what you drive. But in US? It's somehow the most hanious thing you can do.
Its a fucking car. Get over yourself. Musk isn't hand building them. It's easy to "boycott" something you can't afford. I'm sure everyone here avoids amazon and nestle, right?
Buying new car is stupid regardless, but if my model 3 breaks down tomorrow, I'll go buy another model 3. But it won't, because it's literally the best EV on the market. I test drove BYD literaly today, it is the 2nd best EV I've driven (and I've driven A LOT of EVs) but it's generations behind what Tesla offers. This isn't some subjective opinion, tesla is the best in range, efficiency, road noise, safety, software and "self driving" (while not ready, might never be, they're still the best at it). They're also likely the cheapest option.
You're meant to skip that for what? Internet keyboard warrior fame?
It’s even easier to cry like a baby about not being able to afford to drive a different car, when just the golden wrap on your luxury vehicle cost more than an entire normal car.
Nobody fucks with standard teslas lol. Even our wannabe pharaoh here is barely getting fucked with compared to the baseline Worcester experience
