I saw a person here in western europe with a trump flag... A giant fucking trump flag hanging out their apartment window... These people are absolutely fucked in the head.
It makes perfect sense when you realize that Trump is a symbol to international fascists. Let's not forget that after 2016 the world shifted significantly to the right, and had normalized fascist rhetoric to 30% of the population in one of the largest nations in the world
There are way too many of them locally too. At one point they identified themselves with their combination of FUCK TRUDEAU flags and Trump bumper stickers on their trucks.
There's a guy here who painted his entire house as the trump flag. Flies don't tread on me flags and shit. I'm speaking of actual people not online presence.
In the latter half of the 2010s, Cheong continued to grow an audience as a conservative Trump supporter on X under the handle @stillgray. Since 2017, he's worked for the Daily Caller, a website co-founded by broadcast journalist Tucker Carlson. His commentary on U.S. politics is often undercut by people pointing out the fact that Cheong is a Malaysian native and resident.
Fuck whoever wrote this. He's a fuckin propagandist that talks on an opinion show... For him to be considered a journalist is a gigantic insult to journalism for fucks sake... Opinion shows are not journalism.
That's nothing! Trump was born in SE Asia and was adopted by US citizens, but never took his naturalization test, so he's not a citizen either. Can you believe that? I mean sure you can, you believed that other thing.
Okay A, why are you screaming at me? B, are all hexbear people just making .ml accounts now because nobody wants to talk to you? C, how does that justify supporting Trump lol?
the supporting Trump part isn't the focus baby but the amount hexbear users parrot Russian bullshit they may as well have huh?
Let's think hmm.. I guess blaming the Russian invasion on Ukraine is aligning with Trump in my book since ya both tongue punching the same fart box. Seen too many of you dweebs on that shit so how's that
Ignorant fear breaks and shatters a lot of things around itself. Among the first things to go are character and ethics. And with that, any mental gymnastics are allowed so as to NOT go anywhere near Truth.
No, it's primarily hatred. They great what they hate. The decency in conservatives I've known is skin-deep. Spend enough time with them, they'll show you who they really are...
There are so many comments on the US election from people who have zero participation in it.
By itself that’s fine, but point it out please. “I’m not a US voter, but” or something. I get these bizarre takes that make sense only after realizing the commenter isn’t familiar with US elections - which is good news. Because what I’m used to are bizarre takes from people who are (or should be) familiar with them.
It might be due to the fact that I mostly consume media in English, but I hear more about US elections than I heard about the EU parliament elections which were last month. A lot of people are interested, and for good reasons - it's going to influence much more than US itself. I don't think you can go back to keeping your elections to yourself without keeping your military, pop cultural and corporate influence to yourself aswell.
No and that’s totally valid, but when I see something like “Joe Biden should do X or he’s going to lose the vote!” My immediate context fir that is that it’s a US voter saying that. So my response might be something like, “you moron, he obviously can’t do that because of the Bollocks vs. Chowderhead decision of 1972.”
BUT - If I were aware that they were saying that as an interested observer from another country, I could say”oh, well here it’s different because of Bollocks. See what had happened was . . .”
I wish the rest of the world could just ignore your spectacular brand of stupidity but unfortunately things that happen in the US affect the rest of the world. Would be quite happy if that were not the case, but you lot tend to get the rest of the West embroiled in stupid wars.
When candidates start attempting to changed the governmental system by force, with violence... A death.... And still have the idiotic in the country support him.. it forces us to take note.
I would argue the same would be true if someone like this existed in British politics.
I can't vote (green card) but it does affect me (permenant resident) I shouldn't have to declare that in every conversation. It's a bit "papers, bitte"
Yeah I get it, as someone living in America, fair enough, you shouldn’t have to qualify it.
It’s not a great solution. There’s just no way to tell and after getting into minutiae with people, who don’t live here and can’t vote, enough times, it seems like we could avoid some miscommunication that way.
I'm not from the US, nor can I vote there. Unfortunately, since I'm in Canada, I'm very very familiar with your voting system. My knowledge of it is basically on par with my own.
I have lots of opinions on what you guys are doing and I'm desperately hoping that the majority of voters are voting the less crazy person into office.
As it stands, I don't even want to visit the USA because there's so much going on.
"Trusted individuals" get to propose context, and it's vetted by a bunch of other trusted individuals. Everyone then votes if it's good or not. Context that is too contentious will probably get removed.
If you keep proposing notes everyone hates then you lose the status.
I honestly wouldn't go as far as to call them "heroes" in that a lot of them are just contrarians who want to piss off other people on the internet and likely have very little in the way of political ideology.
It just so happens that most of the loudest voices on twitter are also horrible shitnazis so they are going to get the brunt of the community-note trolling.
Ian Miles Cheong's Twitter-fame is baffling to me. I often follow conservative people on there if they're in an important position of some sort, but this guy has accomplished nothing that makes his perspective more relevant than the average schmuck.
This guy is so goddamn weird. I would love to find out what the rusty gears in his brain are doing to make him like this. Dude. Mind your own country's shit.
I'm a little surprised nobody has tried to blame Hamilton's "My Shot" for the attempt on Ole Donny Littlefinger's life.
It would be extremely funny to see Lin Manuel Miranda having to apologize for advocating political violence, while a bunch of Groypers scream about doing a second American Civil War over their friendly fire incident.
Yeah he's kind of a figurehead for a particular mindset. I'm in Canada and there's a guy who regularly posts up in my nearest intersection for FUCK TRUDEAU and TRUMP 2024 flags.
This dude is real though, he’s well known in the right wing Twitter sphere and is often invited on podcasts. Why would the KGB go trough all that trouble of creating a bot when this guy will say this shit for free out of his own volition.
"Support" how? They can't vote here. Do they just mean spreading incendiary opinions online? Or are they actually sending a politician in another country money!? Wouldn't put that past MAGAs, though...
You know you can support someone without voting for (or being able to vote for) them, right?
Just like all the under 18s who pulled for Sanders, lol.
This is not a debunking of anything. If you know anything about this guy, you'd have little reason to doubt that he absolutely is on Trump's side, lol.
Controversial take: Trump is the only American president in recent history that broke away from the policy of war and invasion. Bush Jr, Obama and Biden all left a very bloody legacy, and were direcly responsible for mass murder. If you are not American, then supporting Trump makes a lot of sense.
Remember when Trump dropped the biggest non-nuclear bomb the US military has on Afghanistan for no good reason? Designed for flattening buildings on the surface they deployed it against a tunnel complex.
Remember when he pulled out of the Iran Nuclear deal and the invited one of their top Generals to Iraq and then assassinated him with a drone?
Remember when he wanted to employ the US military against protestors on US Soil and called for the Insurrection Act?
Remember when he ended the policy of reporting Drone strikes outside of official warzones so useful idiots would think he wasn't a war monger?
Having them as neighbors and family makes it no less insane if you, like, pay attention to the world. Or if you give a shit about other people getting a shot at a decent life.
Like how fucking dunse do you need to be to still want a king
Every four years, conservatives have to fight to get their team into office. That's expensive and difficult and often requires compromise with a bunch of people they hate.
To quote former president George W Bush:
If this were a dictatorship it would be a heck of a lot easier... as long as I'm the dictator. Hehehe
Part of at least five reported assassination attempts under the Trump Presidency.
Trump also ratcheted tensions on the Ukraine/Russia border by opening the floodgates for US weapons into Ukraine, which were used in the exchange of fire that prompted the Russian invasion.
And he's been more than happy to sell weapons to despotic regimes in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, which ratcheted tensions on Yemen.
To claim Trump is "anti-war" is entirely untrue. He's "anti-losing" and prefers to be in conflicts where he can crush opposition with impunity. He couldn't do that in Afghanistan (not for lack of trying, he launched a vicious bombing campaign during his first year in office) and recognized it was undermining efforts elsewhere in the world. But he was more than happy to assassinate, bomb, and brutalize foreign countries at every opportunity during the full length of his term.
Sure, Russia was basically forced to start a full scale invasion of Ukraine because of some skirmish that used American weapons. It's definitely not just Russian imperialism, and the little green men that started the invasion in 2014 also weren't members of the Russian military. Have you lost your mind?
Lmao how could you believe something so utterly untrue? Trump bombed an Iraqi airfield to get one guy and threatened all out thermonuclear warfare with North Korea. He's about as pro-war, dyed-in-the-wool imperialist as they come.
Our Western allies are terrified of Trump retaking office because he will never commit to helping anyone else.
