How do you eat kiwifruits?
How do you eat kiwifruits?
How do you eat this fruit called kiwi?
After more than 30 years using a small spoon, I changed. Now I'm eating the whole fruit including the skin.
I just bite into it like an apple.
People are often disgusted, which just makes it taste all the sweeter.
50 0 ReplyI, too, eat kiwis this way.
18 0 ReplyThere's at least 3 of us!
9 0 ReplyI don't think people of New Zealand will appreciate you biting them.

Do it with a banana or a pineapple to really freak people out. Watermelons and pomegranates are also options.
9 0 ReplyCoconuts
3 0 ReplyCitrus, in particular grapefruit, would be also a good option to freak out people

Wait, this isn't how everyone else eats them?
9 0 ReplyBut how do you eat apples? I eat the whole thing, ass first, pit and all.
4 0 ReplyThis is correct. Once you get to the top you can use the stem as a little handle too.

50 2 Reply47 0 ReplyI'm weird. I cut the skin off, eat the flesh, then eat the skin. There's just a different texture between the two and I like to experience them individually.
18 0 ReplyI will try this once, just because of this thread.
But until then, I disagree and you're a monster

Why is everyone eating the skin?
13 0 ReplyGet a load of this guy, peeling their apples, grapes and tomatoes.
4 3 ReplySure, but Kiwi fruit skins has hair ...
3 0 ReplyPeeling apples is not nornal??

I lick mine for several weeks until I get to the centre.
11 0 ReplyI cut it in half and kind of gnaw the innards out. I don't eat the skin, too fuzzy. I think some of modern kiwifruit have smoother skins, but I've been eating them since they were called Chinese gooseberries and to me they're forever fuzzy.
9 0 ReplyI cut them in half and jam them into my mouth and use my teeth to scrape along the inside of the skin.
7 0 ReplyI do the same with rats

Is the skin even edible? I hate peeling that, which is why I use a spoon.
7 0 ReplySkin is edible just a little fuzzy
5 0 ReplyI'll try eating it with skin next time then, thanks.

Yellow ones I eat skin and all.
Green ones get hollowed out with the thinnest teaspoon we have.
6 0 ReplySpoon.
6 0 ReplyPeople mention eating it whole... I at least shave the hair off it first.
6 0 Replyschick? venus?
6 0 ReplyHonestly, it has a better mouth feel when they're waxed.
4 0 ReplyI usually rinse them. The spines relax enough when wet.
Alternatively there's the golden kiwis which have skin that remind me of pears, just thicker. They don't have spines. I'd still to prefer to rinse them, but more because you should rinse fruits and veggies if you're going to eat the skin.

Brush excess fuzz off with my hand, remove the ends and eat with skin on.
5 0 ReplyI just put them in my mouth and start chewing.
I like the fuzz and the sourness.
5 0 ReplySkin is where the good shit is at
1 1 Reply
I cut both ends and slice it while keeping the skin on.
5 0 ReplyThis, but sometimes I’ll roll a slice out of its skin as I eat it, like pulling the ripcord on a gyroscope. Then I’ll eat the strip of skin on its own. Only a monster licks the cream out of an Oreo and leaves the biscuit behind.

Peel, slice, eat with a fork. I know that the skin is edible, I just don't like the texture.
3 0 ReplyCut off both ends, slice in half, eat skin-on.
3 0 ReplyI wish I could be so unfettered
3 0 ReplyDon't like the fuzziness of the skin, but I know you can eat it all.
Same as some people peel apples and some don't. Eat it how you want and don't worry what others do/think.
3 0 ReplyEat the whole thing. The skin is sour but in a good way, and has most of the nutrients.
3 0 ReplyI suet to scoop aswell but now eat the whole thing. Started doing it after seeing a coworker do it. They said you don't notice it and gave me one of thiers. I tried it that way, and they were right. I didn't notice it.
3 0 ReplyUse a knife to cut off the ends, then to slice away the skin. Finally, cut it into quarters and eat it.
3 0 ReplyI take the skin off with a potato peeler and then slice it.
2 0 ReplyWhy have I never thought of this!?

I remove the sticker, wash it under the tap and one bite at a time, eat it whole.
2 0 ReplyI pressed ctrl + F, typed in "wash", and your comment was the only mention. Are people forgetting to wash fruit or forgetting to say they wash fruit?
2 0 ReplyWe're all gonna die one day and we're all full of micro plastic already anyway. Grab life by the hairy, pesticide soaked skin and sink your teeth in.

Eat it whole. People who see me eat kiwis think I'm messing with them. I've never know different
2 0 ReplySlice it and eat with a small spoon
2 0 ReplyHowever the fuck you want. But it's a kiwifruit. A kiwi is a bird.
4 2 ReplyI peel it and then eat it
you can also cut it in half and scoop it out if you like
2 0 ReplyI'm allergic to the skin; it makes my mouth tingle. So, I eat it with a spoon.
1 0 ReplyWhole fruit with the skin, it's better that way. Though I usually use a small knife to carve out the ends.
1 0 ReplyAre you a goat?
3 0 ReplyWe both have horns if that's what you mean

I cut 'em in half, then scoop the flesh out with a spoon. I've tried biting through the skin, but I don't like the fuzz.
1 0 ReplyRarely, but when I do: cutting in half, then eating it with a spoon. I never knew people did it other ways too.
1 0 ReplyI don't.
1 0 ReplyWhole, except for the tips.
1 0 ReplyWith my mouth.
