Waffle House raises worker pay after strikes and pressure from labor organizers
  • Waffle House CEO Joe Rogers III said base pay would rise to at least $3 per hour in June and then gradually rise to at least $5.25 per hour by June 2026

This should be illegal. Tips should not make up the entirety of an employee’s pay.

  • Apple elaborates on iOS 17.5 bug that resurfaced deleted photos - 9to5Mac
  • In a now-deleted post, a Reddit user last week alleged that their photos reappeared on an iPad they sold to a friend, despite them having erased the content of that iPad prior to selling it. Apple tells me that this claim was false.

I had a feeling this was the case. It makes absolute zero sense that a fully erased device on a different Apple ID could have this issue.

Catherine, Princess of Wales, Has Cancer

Catherine, Princess of Wales, has been diagnosed with cancer and has begun chemotherapy, she announced in a video message on Friday, in which she described the past two months as “incredibly tough for our entire family.”

It comes after a period of intense uncertainty about the health of Catherine, who underwent abdominal surgery in January and largely disappeared from public view as she tried to recuperate.

Like the king, Catherine, 42, did not specify what kind of cancer she has, but asked the public and news media to respect her desire for privacy.

The House on Wednesday passed a bill with broad bipartisan support that would force TikTok’s Chinese owner to either sell the hugely popular video app or be banned in the United States.

Republican leaders fast-tracked the bill through the House with limited debate, and it passed on a lopsided vote of 352-65, reflecting widespread backing for legislation that would take direct aim at China in an election year.

King Charles has been diagnosed with a form of cancer, says Buckingham Palace.

The type of cancer has not been revealed - it is not prostate cancer, but was discovered during his recent treatment for an enlarged prostate. The King began "regular treatments" on Monday and will postpone public duties during the treatment, the Palace said.

The King, 75, "remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible," it added. No further details are being shared on the stage of cancer or a prognosis.

Although he will pause his public events, the King will continue with his constitutional role as head of state, including paperwork and private meetings.

    Subtitle Bug

I am experiencing a bug that causes subtitles to appear tiny and in the bottom left corner. Other people have reported the same problem on Reddit. I have tried messing around with the subtitles setting to no avail, and was wondering if anyone has found a fix for it?
