Great news. I'm probably more likely to use Sync, but seeing not one but two well regarded Android Reddit apps migrate to Lemmy is just bloody awesome.
244 3 ReplyReally missing Relay :(
40 0 ReplyThe developer has just announced that Relay will continue to function and will switch to a subscription model, so there probably won't be a Relay for Lemmy, unfortunately :(
23 0 ReplyI'm not missing Relay's trackers in the paid app.
11 1 ReplyI hope Relay for Lemmy becomes a thing. My fav for years.
10 0 ReplyThunder feels pretty close. Turn on compact mode + thumbnails on the right and it's visually almost identical to how I had Relay set up. It even has the short swipe to upvote, long swipe to downvote actions.
4 0 ReplyRelay is my top preference.
2 0 ReplyMe too.
2 0 ReplyRelay was the best. There were so many great simple features that a surprising number of Lemmy apps are missing
1 0 Reply
Thank you for this great news!
17 0 ReplyThree* Don't forget Slide.
16 0 ReplyGreat news, Slide is my favorite FOSS client from F-Droid
10 0 Reply
If one thing the Fediverse have thought me so far is that you can use them all at the same time ;)
10 0 ReplyIs Sync migrating too?
5 0 ReplyYes, it's going to be called Sync for Lemmy and preregistration opened two days ago. It most likely will still be some weeks before it becomes available. Ljdawson stated the target is 6 weeks, so that would be somewhere in the middle of August.
3 0 Reply1 0 ReplyYes, Sync for Lemmy has been confirmed to be in development. It has its own community and a channel on the Sync discord.
1 0 Reply
Same. I used Boost for a while until I found Sync. I imagine the same will happen here.
4 0 ReplyI went from relay to sync to boost, lol. They were all great but the customizable views were more to my taste with boost.
4 0 Reply
I'm on Jerboa which is functionally very similar to Reddit is Fun so I'm happy with that. Like you said, good to see boost for Lemmy anyway tho
3 0 ReplySeriously, I can't wait to use Sync for Lemmy!
2 0 ReplyThe more the merrier!
2 0 Replydon't forget about infinity too
1 0 ReplySync literally went off the play store about an hour ago :(
Edit: Looks like Sync for Lemmy is happening! https://syncapps.io/
1 0 Replyis Sync confirmed for lemmmy/fediverse?
1 0 Reply2 0 Reply
This is what finally made me create a Lemmy account.
114 0 ReplyAwesome! Thanks for the link!

Between Boost and Sync, Lemmy is emerging as a promising option because there's going to be multiple strong 3rd party apps to engage with.
85 0 ReplyFuck yes. Boost was my favorite reddit app.
79 0 ReplyWAIT WHAT THE FUCK WHAT!?
Last time I checked dev wasn't too convinced of it!!!!!
66 1 ReplyIkr? I was under the impression that Mayayo wasn't interested but he probably saw the potential even more so when other former reddit 3rd party apps are switching, potentially bringing a lot of users.
28 0 ReplyIt was a sudden switch. My guess is he was on the fence and outpouring of support and donations from his goodbye announcement post pushed him over the fence. I'm thrilled of course, Boost was my favorite Reddit app so I look forward to trying the Lemmy version.
2 0 Reply
It's on the Google Play store (Boost for Lemmy) as a "coming soon" app. :)
Excellent!
4 0 Reply
As a boost user this is weird... So many people were asking in the subreddit and he never answered. I'm glad it's happening
65 0 ReplyLONG LIVE THE KING
53 0 ReplyThank you Ruben!
It seems like the future for Lemmy is pretty bright with all these amazing apps switching over.
It's a shame that Christian decided to not develop Apollo for Lemmy for the time being. I bet that would also convince a fair share of users to abandon ship.
44 0 ReplyCan't wait. Boost is my most used app on Android and this will be great.
43 0 ReplyHell yeah! It's my favorite reddit app by far.
42 0 ReplyThis is so exciting! Boost was my app of choice for the old place. I'm glad to see this here.
37 0 ReplyWhilst waiting for the boost app to be available, I tried wefwef and its pretty fucking sweet.
Link for android home install is:
31 1 Reply29 0 ReplySync for Lemmy is also happening!
27 1 ReplyYes! This is the proper response to Reddit's API changes.
26 0 ReplyI am incredibly happy to see this. Boost has been my absolutely favorite choice for a very long time
23 0 ReplyReddit user for over 10 years, here for good. I was a long time Sync user and at some point I switched to Boost and I'm not sure why because I also purchased Sync Pro at some point. My two favorite Android apps being developed to work with Lemmy made me create a new account here and I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes.
22 0 ReplyRound 2
21 0 ReplyI think I currently have 3 Lemmy apps on my phone, currently enjoying Liftoff... But will be VERY likely to go back to Boost if to works On Lemmy :)
20 0 Replylol the downvoted post in one of the screenshots, the dev singled out @zac for absolutely no reason and I love it
20 0 ReplyI fucking knew it, in one of the last updates in the menu it went from "find subreddit" to "find community"
19 0 ReplyIt will be good feature wise, but privacy?
19 0 ReplyI paid for Boost premium for Reddit a long time ago and will do it again just to support it here.
18 0 ReplyThis damn near brought a tear to my eye. I no longer miss reddit at all.
18 0 ReplyI really like Lemmy so far even though it isn’t perfect yet. Adding a 3rd party app will make using this even easier.
17 0 Replyfirst Sync, now Boost? Let's funking go!!!
16 0 ReplyCan't believe how many lemmy clients we're getting in such a short span. Exciting times ahead boys!
16 0 ReplyFor some reason, Boost for Reddit is still working too 😅
16 0 ReplyI just moved here from Reddit and I'm missing Boost already. Really looking forward to this!
16 0 ReplyNo waaaaay! The dev said it's not happening, I'm so glad to see he's actually doing it!
16 0 ReplyAndroid users desperately need a better app for browsing Lemmy than Jerboa. Boost and Sync may just be that app.
16 1 ReplyI am thrilled, Boost has been the best Reddit experience for me since I stopped loving Bsconreader. I don't even remember what my problem with it was, I think it was crashing or.... something, haha.
Boost ended up being a UI I preferred significantly, and I never looked back! This is gonna be FANTASTIC, where do I throw my money?!
15 0 ReplyI am here because of boost
15 0 ReplyFOSS?
15 0 ReplyBoost for Reddit wasn't, so I would expect the same here.
28 0 ReplyAre there any Foss lemmy app yet?
3 0 ReplyPretty sure just about everything except Sync, Boost, and Maybe Summit are FOSS or plan to be
2 0 ReplyMost of them are! Jerboa, Liftoff, Connect and, the best of the bunch, wefwef.
1 0 Reply
Got to support the dev of somehow. I'd happily pay for it again.
2 1 Reply
Boost and Sync were my top two over the years. Happy to see Boost is making this switch too!
15 0 ReplyWohooo!!! Favourite app!
15 0 ReplyOh yeah, this is definitely hot! Shoot me up there into the endless fediverse! It's time to discover all those niche galaxies riding a nice vessel!
14 0 ReplyI was a RIF user and would like to see something similar over here. RIF feed is over. Rip.
14 0 ReplyBoost wasn't just my favorite Reddit app but my favorite App in general. I love the clean design so much. When the Lemmy App is released I will launch the Rocket to the Moon
14 0 ReplyGreat news! Love seeing the Lemmyverse continue to expand!
14 1 ReplyNice, Boost was my reddit app of choice
13 0 ReplyAs a long term user of Boost for reddit, I'm so hyped by this now!!!!
13 0 ReplyThe promise of Boost for Lemmy is what got me to sign up.
13 0 Replyawesome! boost was my favorite reddit app, im glad the developer sees a future in the fediverse!
13 0 ReplyWell I'm buying it once it releases.
13 1 ReplyYes this is great! Between this and wefwef which is Apollo lookalike right now for iOS ppl this is great! Just need everyone over to Lemmy now but that'll prob take decades
12 0 ReplyI'm registered for this.... incidentally it's the first time I've ever seen pre-reg for an app before lol
11 0 ReplyI was so happy when I found this out. I hope Lemmy gets the support.
11 0 ReplyI'm a sync guy but this news has me so excited. I will try Boost for Lemmy when it comes out and likely support it anyways.
12 1 ReplyI used Boost to browse reddit. I'm definitely getting this when it's out.
11 0 ReplyI'm in! Unless rif goes to lif, in which case cheers all around :)
11 0 ReplyReally happy that Boost and Sync are coming to Lemmy. WefWef.app has been a good replacement for Apollo on the iOS side
10 0 ReplyNever knew pre-registration for apps was a thing. Signed up for this one, looking forward to giving it a go
10 0 ReplyThis sad day is becoming a very hopeful day! I'm so glad! 🥳
10 0 ReplyIt's the reason I finally decided to create a Lemmy account. Been a Boost user for many years.
10 0 ReplyStill not 100% sold on Lemmy, but Boost with a good implementation could be the thing that changes my mind!
10 0 ReplyAvid Boost user rejoice!!! Let's go boissss
10 0 ReplyThis is so exciting! I used boost for reddit for 6 years and loved it! Can't wait to use it with lemmy
10 0 ReplyIt looks amazing on the preview images.
10 0 ReplyI saw that "subreddit" was changed to "communties" in the app recently so I was quite certain that a version for Lemmy is being at least experimented with.
10 0 ReplyKudos to developer!
10 0 ReplyI thought Rubén said he was going to move onto smaller apps instead of making a Lemmy app?
Regardless, I'm glad this is happening!
9 0 ReplyI love how a day ago he said he wasn't going to make an app and then changed his mind that quick. So damn excited!
9 0 ReplyGreat news! I loved boost for reddit.
I still can't believe spez did this. And continues to do this. What a prick
10 1 ReplyI was using it for last few years, and it's one of the best 3rd part app for reddit.
10 1 ReplyBoost is my favourite, so looking forward to getting this!
8 0 ReplyNO WAY!!! This is amazing news!!
8 0 ReplyThat UI....my god it's gorgeous. This is going to be a game changer for Lemmy.
8 0 ReplyOMG, cannot wait for this.
8 0 ReplyThis makes me so happy! I've been maining boost for almost six years now and was so bummed when the dev announced he wasn't going to be working on a Lemmy app. Looks like he changed his mind!
8 0 ReplyI do get the “distributed” nature of networks and the underlying philosophy, but only if there’s a common interface where lemmy/mastodon or other similar network created accounts can be used seamlessly in addition to the current behavior.
8 0 ReplyYes! Boost was my favorite.
9 1 ReplyI was already on kbin thanks to the recent reddit fuckery.
Literally made an account here on lemmy.world after Boost's announcement just now.
Having my favorite Reddit app come over here with me is such good news.
8 0 ReplyDude don't posts screen shots. i kept trying to press back on your image.

14 6 ReplyIs this real??? He said he wasn't going to do this 🤔
He said he would not be doing Boost for Lemmy, and that he would focus on smaller apps:
https://www.reddit.com/r/BoostForReddit/comments/14ehiqs/comment/jow1le5
And he only registered the Lemmy community to prevent impersonation:
https://www.reddit.com/r/BoostForReddit/comments/14ehiqs/comment/jouvuok
I wonder if he put this on the store as a placeholder to also prevent impersonation?
EDIT: Damn, just saw the screenshots. Either this is a very elaborate placeholder, or it's really happening!
8 1 ReplyI like using boost for reddit, very fast and responsive than the reddit app. I will definitely sign up for this
7 0 ReplyPreregistered.
7 0 ReplyWhy does it have to be so hard to find communities? Trying to add this, but it doesn't show up: https://lemmy.world/c/boostforlemmy
Should I just leave lemm.ee since it has trouble finding every single community?
7 0 ReplyThis will actually make lemmy usable on mobile for me! I've been using boost for years, and I really can't wait.
7 0 ReplyHell yeah, Boost rules
7 0 ReplyBoost was my most used app for several years. Really excited for this and to see the Fediverse grow.
7 0 ReplyJust pre-registered. Boost for Lemmy would be awesome
7 0 ReplySeeing all these new Lemmy apps popping up.. such a nice view
7 0 ReplyJerboa has been a really similar experience to Boost so far, compared to other Lemmy apps. However, Boost had some features I've been missing dearly, I'm so glad to hear this!
I'll definitely use it when it releases!
7 0 ReplyAre there any good iOS apps coming?
7 0 ReplyYEAAAAHHH BOOOST, WE LOVE BOOST
7 0 ReplyI never used Boost for Reddit, but with this many people singing it's praises... ***BOOST FOR LEMMY, LET'S GOOO! *** Sorry, Connect. You're still cool tho
7 0 ReplyAwesome, used to use the reddit version and really liked it, switched from the official app and never looked back. Excited to try it out when it releases (also this is my first comment on lemmy, been lurking for a week or so but I think it's time I start interacting)
7 0 Replyyeah?? fuck year! I thought. I thought he wasnt gonna do a port, last I checked the boost subreddit it was said it wasnt happening so this is awesome.
i will gladly pay for boost premium again.
7 0 ReplyOh HELL yea. I've been using Boost ever since I moved from Sync like 6 years ago. This is fantastic news.

6 0 ReplyFUCK YEAH
6 0 ReplyI am super duper excited!
8 2 ReplyI know there's a megathread for all lemmy clients, old and new. I just can't find it. Maybe you guys know? Or Is there a community? I just want an actual list of all lemmy apps.
6 0 ReplyYessss I had all but given up hope. There is a god.
6 0 ReplyThat's amazing. Boost was my favorite app for reddit. Do you know when we can expect it to be ready for use?

6 1 ReplyThis is a game changer
5 0 ReplyI will launch that 🚀 as soon as the app is available. Pre-registration is done, let's goooooooo.
5 0 ReplyThis is great. Lemmy needs more 3P apps, as most people don't like using websites directly.
5 0 ReplyNow time for apollo haha Although wefwef is already brilliant
5 0 ReplyI have used Boost for so many time before I Switch to Joey but maybe the time use this app again.
5 0 ReplyThis is great! I was so sad when Rubén.said he wouldn't develop boost for lemmy. I think he did create a community as a kind of placeholder, so maybe i should go find it again
5 0 ReplyOn to the next one. I pay (support) em all
5 0 ReplyInsane how everyone is fast about Lemmy.
5 0 ReplyThis is most excellent news. 😀
5 0 ReplyNoice
5 0 ReplyYES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Boost is my #1 app for Reddit. Such a beautiful and loved all the features in it.
5 0 ReplyBoooooost! Thank you for coming to Lemmy~ It'll make ditching Reddit that much easier.
5 0 ReplySuper keen, boost was the only app that gets any proper use on my phone
5 0 ReplyHow does this compare to liftoff?
Been enjoying that quite a bit
5 0 ReplySync for Lemmy is coming too and that's how I heard of Lemmy! Excited to be on a fresh internet community, feels nostalgic in a way even though it's brand new
4 0 ReplyGreat news
4 0 ReplyNice. Jerboa is inspired by it, but it's nowhere even close to Boost yet.
4 0 ReplyHopefully it supports Kbin as well
4 0 ReplyYessss.
That's all I have to say.
4 0 ReplyThis is great news, used boost for years.

4 0 ReplyThis is good news. Boost was my favorite until I switched to infinity.
5 1 ReplyI'm so excited for this!
4 0 ReplyAnyone use both sync and boost? I had used RIF so trying to get a feel for how each had worked before leaning towards one
4 0 ReplyGreat, will be using the app once it's finalized !! Poss off reddit, won't use your shit app

3 0 ReplyLET'S FUCKING GO.
On a different note, I tried opening boost for reddit and it works fine?
3 0 ReplyWHAT. This literally just made me yell out loud haha. This isn't some sick joke right? Or a hallucination? When I askerhim before he said he wasn't going to be making boost for lemmy....
Edit: It's not a joke, I just registered on the play store. This is so awesome.
3 0 ReplyBest news of the day!

3 0 ReplyBoost was my favorite android client so happy to hear this! Now using a iPhone tho
3 0 ReplyBest friggin news all day.
I've tried just about every android app for reddit and have firmly been a boost user since I tried it years ago. I was metlntally prepping myself for sync but now I may not have to!
3 0 ReplyYESSSSS I honestly didn't think boost would
3 0 ReplyThis is really fucking exciting.. I just donated money through their boost app by "launching the rocket"
3 0 ReplyThat's weird, I saw the developer on Reddit say a few days ago he wasn't going to make an app for lemmy..
https://www.reddit.com/r/BoostForReddit/comments/14ehiqs/comment/jovy7ku

2 0 ReplyThis makes me irrationally happy.
2 0 ReplyYay!!!
2 0 ReplyMy favorite Reddit client, I was bummed when I moved to IOS and found that I I can’t have boost. I don’t think he’ll create an iOS app, but if you’re on android, please give this app a try, it’s amazing.
2 0 ReplyI'm a total noob so using lemmy was a real challenge to get started, but I downloaded wefwef today and it's basically just like Reddit, very easy to use and feels very comfortable.
2 0 ReplyI've been kind of expecting this move from a community person like Mr. Mayayo. I'm going to launch the rocket in a heart beat !
2 0 ReplyGod I love to see this. What gifts, all these apps! I've used 4 so far and they all rock. I can't make up my mind.
2 0 Replyhellzz yaa

2 0 ReplyOh boi my favorite app coming to Lemmy can't wait!
2 0 ReplyWait what, I thought he wasn't doing it, saying he was going to do smaller apps. I guess this is what he meant by "smaller apps"? xD
2 0 ReplyPretty cool. I think this would be a nice place to migrate to.
2 0 ReplyThis is the best news I've had in the last few days.
2 0 ReplyYo boost was the shit when so was on android. I really hope Apollo does the same thing.

3 1 ReplyYou beauty!
2 0 Replyhey, that was my go-to app! im stoked
2 0 ReplyTest
2 0 ReplyLudicrously happy - he had said he was going to be working on smaller apps. Boost is why I have used reddit so much these past years - as of right now it's still online, but I suspect withing a few hours it will no longer function.
2 0 ReplyThis was my go to Reddit app for years. Registered for the installation!
2 0 ReplyExciting news! Loved boost for Reddit, will definitely use it for Lemmy!
2 0 ReplyThis great news.
I paid for both Boost and Sync as I kept filtering between the two, for me Sync had an edge but don't ask me why, because even I dont really know.
Just for me they were the best two android apps so to them both coming to Lemmy is great news.
2 0 ReplySame. I imagine there hasn't been anything official from Reddit as they are trying to cut off 3rd party apps on phases to avoid a massive drop in traffic.
Think of it as smoothing the transition to increase their odds that people will cave to "peer pressure" and just download the official app.
2 0 ReplyOooh!! 🔥🔥💯👑
2 0 ReplyThis is amazing news. Can't wait!
2 0 ReplyContains ads • In-app purchases
4 2 ReplyThis is the most exiting fedinews I've ever read.

1 0 ReplyWe've arrived
1 0 ReplyThat was probably on third place right after Relay & Infinity for me.
Any word on kbin support?1 0 ReplyI've been waiting for it to come out and it just got pushed to my phone today. This is my first comment on Lemmy! Woo! So far it's feeling pretty seamless.
