When did you get your first phone? First computer? What was it?
  • I got my first phone in 2002. It was a Nokia 3510.

I got my first computer, or rather our first family computer, in the same year. All I remember specs-wise is that it was your typical beige Pentium 4 machine, 40GB HDD, massive 19" CRT monitor, running Windows XP.

  • Heat-pump water heaters are a winner for the climate — and your wallet
  • Speaking for The Netherlands here, but I believe our situation is very similar to the UK in this regard. A lot of houses are equipped with a gas-powered tankless heater which supplies both central heating and hot water. These come in various sizes and output capacities, so you can install one which comfortably suits your needs. Using hot water for multiple things at once shouldn't be an issue if you have the right heater installed.

  • Is anyone else having trouble giving up Reddit due to content?
  • I feel the same way. I've been on Lemmy since the Reddit blackout, but went back to Reddit when it ended and barely used Lemmy since. I mean, I dislike spez as much as anyone, but that doesn't mean I suddenly hate the entire Reddit community. I don't know what I'll do once I'm finally forced to use the official app, but for now I'm still happily using Boost as a mod.

  • What apps are you guys using until Boost for Lemmy gets released?
  • Liftoff. I tried Jerboa, Connect and Liftoff and bounced between Connect and Liftoff for a while, but I mostly gravitated towards Liftoff. It's OK for now, but I don't think any of these apps will stay on my phone once Boost is released.

  • so long, old friend...
  • The API is still fully functional for moderator accounts, including NSFW posts if you're moderating an NSFW subreddit. So, you can create a subreddit, mark it as NSFW, set it to private if you wish, and have a fully functioning Boost app again. This trick probably won't work forever, but enjoy it while it lasts.

  • Hide toolbar under comments

It would be cool if there were an option to hide the toolbar below individual comments and have it appear upon tapping the comment.
