The wait is so draining. It dominates every part of your psyche and just makes your entire existence about itself. Don’t forget to exist during the wait.
For yourself, and for your wife - go do something fun that’ll demand your focus for a bit. Best of luck to you both. I hope for good news for you.
You didn’t ask me, but I’ll give you my unsolicited recommendation: Jellyfish - Spilt Milk
In a time when grunge was the new hotness, this band released a masterpiece. Catchy ass pop rock - like if you threw Queen, The Beach Boys and The Beatles all in a blender with some modern, polished sensibility. Dang just talking about it makes me want to relisten.
Although it doesn’t sound like it really came from the 90s to me honestly. Ok I’ll shut up now lol
A month ago I took a really long shot and actually messaged a girl's Snapchat from a dating app. It took all the courage I had, but I just told her I was attracted to her and I wanted to be physical with her.
She's almost 30 years younger than me, and drop dead gorgeous, and goth hot.
She's on her way over right now for our third "date".
Not saying this to brag, I'm saying maybe go browse a dating app and message hot chicks and see what happens. I still can't believe this is happening to me but it is.
Writing my letter of resignation, developing a Blender extension, and watching a streamer play Control (specifically the ashtray maze) for the first time.
I had pizza last night and I’m at a stalemate as I sit here trying to decide what sounds good. If I don’t figure it out soon I might be having leftover pizza again myself lol. Cheers 🍷
OK, immature jokes aside; Saturday is movie night for me and my friends, and we've been spending the past year going through the entire Star Wars franchise in chronological order.
Tonight we'll watch the last half of The Mandalorian season 2. We're nearly finished!
A town about 2h driving west of Stockholm in Sweden, they have a cool museum with stationary steam engines from their industrial history, there is another museum showing off more of it as well, including some swords, guns and rifles made in the town.
I bought my first car last summer at 35, this is the first longer trip I'll do in it (apart from looking at the northern most bus stop in SL's area and also looking at Dannemora Gruva), I just had breakfast and am bow heading out in the beautiful weather
I spent the entire evening playing virtual D&D while sewing details onto a corset and making a bloody necklace (it's for a stage act). Quite happy with the result.
playing an rpg with some pals. Currently entangled between a giant undead psychic who wants to kidnap our party's legally distinct jedi, a mind flayer planted by a fascist government, and the crashed wedding's bride who for some reason is super hyped to kill.
Got hotpot with like 50 of my coworkers. Had a blast. Some table ordered too much food and it was hilarious for everyone else as we watched them struggle to finish it all. We had to rotate people into their table to help eat the food.
One of my kids is currently attending a birthday party at the local trampoline park, so as I'm the driver I'm currently playing chess and writing this post while waiting. By the time I get home it's time to herd half of my offsprings to bed, after which I have a few beers waiting for me, as well as a savegame in Songs of Syx I started on yesterday.
Oh, and I finally found a replacement wrist band that fits my Garmin watch today, so I'm replacing it at some point during the evening.
Worked on some music (synthesizer programming) got dinner with bae, enjoyed some recreational drugs in lieu of alcohol (dry January, lol) and cuddling with the cat!
