Not true. Those pieces look like they fit together.
Edit: I bet it even came with human readable instructions.

8 0 ReplyI got 9 of those! Analog and windows free ☺️ The sustainiac humbucker on one of them does require a battery chance from time to time though 🎸
1 0 ReplyThe hilarity here is that iirc this first showed up on [email protected] , and gained a 3rd of the popularity. At least we see and understand what it is like if you go the Gentoo route.
24 0 ReplyI didn't know linux sucks was a thing 💀
6 0 ReplyMostly people that can't or won't setup anything more complicated than a PS1

Just google "apt repository for guitar model X" and you'll find out someone has already assembled and packaged yours.

make && make install
Done.
22 0 ReplyOnly five missing dependencies, ten configuration mistakes and three compiler errors to go.
17 0 ReplyOooh! Better than usual!

Ngl a diy guitar kit looks like a fun project.
16 0 ReplyI've seen them on AliExpress. They likely sound and play like shit but that's besides the point of the novelty of building your own functional guitar.
I saw a double-neck kit that I'm really considering as a gift for a friend of ours.
3 0 ReplyOk now I'm looking for kits. I bought the lowest tier Jackson warrior and you get what you pay for. I should've gone higher up the product list.

Pretty sure the command for this was
sudo rm -rf
4 0 ReplyI love the API!

3 0 Replyhttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frets_on_Fire
It's been available since 2006, works very well
20 0 ReplyThese days I'd recommend Clone Hero
18 0 ReplyOr yarg which I’ve found runs better on weaker hardware.

Man, I had Frets on Fire loaded with every song imaginable. I loved that shit.
I got Clone Hero recently and I love it, but my time with the ol’ hero games has passed.
9 0 ReplyAww, I used to play this on my keyboard some 15 years ago. Fun times.

This is far too linear, where are my choices? There must be a fork of this body that is full of switches and got an included amplifier.
26 0 ReplyGuitar hero on Linux
Guitarch, btw.
71 0 ReplyMissed opportunity: the body in the picture should have been for an arch-top guitar.

I've played Clone Hero on Linux, works great
32 0 ReplyOne of those rare games with an actually good native Linux version

At least you end up with an actual useable instrument at the end and not a plastic toy
36 0 ReplyAlso we are already onto bundling it as a .deb
7 0 ReplyGreat, as soon as you have that working we'll just make it useless in Ubuntu and rebundle everything plus their mothers in a snap
5 0 ReplyAnd on the AUR
3 0 Reply
Sure, but doesn't mean you can't have fun with it though.

first you've gotta compile a planet with an atmosphere for the sound to travel through before even thinking about playing the guitar
59 0 ReplyYou folks are living in the stone age. In the current millennium, plenty of consumer-grade pre-built planets are available.
All you have to do is occasionally spend your weekend debugging incompatibility of gravity and quantum layers.
6 0 ReplyNo, you gotta build everything from the big bang onwards.
17 1 ReplyNo, that's the recipe for apple pie.
21 0 ReplyAlso, your rhythm and timings start from the moment of the Big Bang

Would this be one of those
chmod ./*.sh
commands?
1 0 ReplyNope.
./configure make guitar

Nah I use LFS, I wanna grow the tree and chop the wood too
21 0 ReplyNot anymore... This was true in 2010 guys. :)
11 2 ReplyChallenge accepted!
I've rebuilt guitars before, don't see any reason I can't built one from scratch with all the proper parts.
15 0 ReplyYeah? Try it with building wheel for wxPython apps for 10 arches.

I don't even play but I'd love to assemble a guitar.
13 0 ReplyI do play and I absolutely guarantee any guitar I would try assemble would play so so badly. Setting up a guitar is an exercise in precision engineering with wood.
7 1 Replyan exercise in precision engineering with wood
With wood, an hilariously imprecise material (for anyone who doesn't know). It refuses precision on principle first, and then just on occasion, at every opportunity later.
That delicious (infuriating) imprecision is probably why it can sound so frickin great, though, so...

Same ! This looks so satisfying !! Hope they have proper manual though... Not an outsourced Polish only image based manual... Uhhhg !
6 0 ReplyThese kits do come with step by step manuals, but one of the reasons to get one in the first place is to modify it. It makes sense to figure out what each part does, instead of following a manual.
2 0 ReplyGotta check the documentation

* Some parts are now sanctioned and cannot be distributed at the moment
5 3 ReplyUuu, that's a nice take, I like that.
Too bad it might not be a joke in the future.

Not nearly text-based enough
6 0 ReplyMe when I learn Clone Hero on Linux needs increased file limit to run without freezing:
0 0 ReplyYou mean Gentoo or LSF?
