Police allege ‘evil twin’ in-flight Wi-Fi used to steal info
  • This would only be an interim solution. The attacker here sets up a fake github.com and collects credentials. So, VPN would be first trying to route over some internal hostname/IP address and probably just fail.

However, if everyone uses some VPN, the attacker can start imitating the VPN server. Or all the common ones. Redirect all traffic to a fake myvpnname.com/login with a message "you're using your device from a suspicious location, please confirm your credentials". You're on a plane, so you think this makes sense, punch in your password and it's gone!

  • Stop use docker
  • Weak one. Let's ideate on a better version

    STOP DOING DOCKER

    • Virtualization was supposed to reduce the overhead, not create entire DevOps departments.

    • Years of containerization yet no real use over make clean; make build

    • Wanted to deploy your app in the "cloud" anyways for a laugh? We had a tool for it, it's called rsync

    • Let's run a virtual container in --privileged mode, so we can manage system resources from it -- Statements dreamt up by utterly Deranged

Look at what tech interviews have been demanding your Respect for all these years. (These are real documentation examples for how a simple virtualization supposedly works)

Hello, I would like to put 20 Terabytes of "images" into my /var/lib/, please!

They played us for absolute fools!

  • Switch from Ubuntu to something immutable?
  • Your immutable distro will not be tailored to your hardware by a team of qualified and paid engineers. I'm not entirely sure why the heck do you think immutability is the differentiating factor here.

  • Let’s make games open source, so future generations can enjoy them
  • History is important, although more recent history books have better evidence and data than old ones. Literature, generally, ages well, although it's mostly survival bias. A lot of it perishes without any loss to the society. Movies sorta age well. Again, only some. Games don't age well.

  • Post Sponsored By Microsoft
  • You're like 20y late with this joke. MS runs their servers on linux nowdays.

They already have WSL and their own Linux distro.

Give them another 5 years and they'll have rewritten their core to sit on top of unix and will have become a simple commercial linux distro. When buying a windows laptop you will be able to click through 5 yes/no promts, unlock the terminal and yum -S gnome-desktop to break free. No dual boot needed.

You know what's the worst part? M$ will be the biggest contributor to the kernel. And that's how linux will die.

  • Permanent Voltage Drop

I understand that the battery degrades over time.

However, without any apparent reason I found my scooter does not charge above 51.6V while a full charge used to be 55.9V. (I own a Zero 9).

It hasn't been used for two weeks before this happened, but I left it roughly half-charged, which should be ideal for a long-term idle time.

Any clues on what's going on?
