Instructions unclear: still depressed and smell like vinegar.
62 0 ReplyIts a surprising effect, no one said it was a good surprise!
45 0 ReplyNothing about this outcome was a surprise

Was your depression surprised though?
11 0 ReplyNo, but the vinegar surely was.

"There goes that gloomy guy that smells like a foot."
3 0 ReplyFeet are not supposed to smell like vinegar. You may need to give your feet some extra tlc if they do. If that doesn’t work, talk to your doc.

Eating salt and vinegar chips is the biological equivalent of scrubbing your digestive tract with a wire brush, and this is exactly what I deserve.
50 1 ReplyI’ve heard of people being told to drink vinegar to try and pass a THC test.

The trial was completed by a total of 28 overweight but otherwise healthy adults, who were split into two groups: one group taking two tablespoons of red wine vinegar twice daily, and the other group taking a daily pill with a very small amount of vinegar in it.
Group too small, overweight is a weird group to use because it doesn’t really apply to people. And there wasn’t a control
42 7 ReplyWhile I understand your point that it is a weird group to test on,
23 0 Replyoverweight is a weird group to use because it doesn’t really apply to people
Overweight people aren't people?
27 6 ReplySure but my point was that an underlying health condition can impact a study and mean the results don’t apply to the general population
It could be as simple as vinegar is an appetite suppressant so their mood boosted as their diet was better

Of course. If I add vinegar to anything it has a surprising effect.
24 0 ReplyAn effect that becomes less surprising with repetition. At some point, it's no longer a "surprising effect" but an entirely expected one.
10 0 ReplyOnly at first. Unless you've got that Memento or 50 First Dates shit going on..
9 0 ReplyYeah I've never been mad because I ate some salt and vinegar chips

This could explain my love for pickles. My body's looking out for me, I guess
18 0 ReplyThe country with the highest per capita consumption of vinegar in 2018 was the Netherlands, with 3,108 liters per 1,000 people
This checks out. As we all know, the Dutch only inflict depression, they’re never depressed themselves.
17 0 ReplyAs a Ferrari fan I can confirm.
5 0 ReplyI feel like you've done that to yourself. The Dutch are barely involved.

Unfortunately most chip companies don’t actually use salt and vinegar directly, they use sodium diacetate and sodium acetate which when combined produce the salt and vinegar flavouring we know.
13 0 Replyis that to avoid using liquid vinegar?
2 0 ReplyYeah, basically. You get the same flavour but in a powdered form. Imagine opening a bag of chips and getting a soggy mess of liquid vinegar. It would be chaos. Its probably cheaper too, but I don’t know shit about chip manufacturing.

Is that effect making your depression worse? I think drinking vinegar might make me more depressed.
15 2 Reply1 - popsci headlines about food are always bogus
2 - skimming through the article, it suggests that the Vit B in vinegar is the suspected cause
3 - substituting vinegar for antidepressants (which the article does not state, but seems to
eludeallude to) is a bad idea21 1 ReplyIt was a joke.

4 0 ReplyThe vinegar situation where I am atm has kind of made me more depressed? Some of it is straight up ass, and the salt & vinegar chips have been pretty terrible across the board. I love vinegar, too, so I'm very sad. Maybe the vinegar has to taste good to work.
3 0 ReplyGitcha some of them all-dressed chips for a little flavor with your vinegar.
2 0 ReplyAlso perfect for going in a sarnie
