The Conservative leader says sandwiches are "not real food" while the PM says they are a British institution.
Mainly sharing because of how insane Badenoch is. 'Shall I tell everyone I skip lunch and just eat steak at my desk? Yes, that'll make me seem relatable.'
EDIT: Huh, the headline in the article is different from the one on the homepage, so now I seem insane. Touché, Kemi.
BBC changed the article. Yesterday there was the ‘not real food’ one, later followed by Starmer’s defence of the sandwich. The ‘not real food’ quote is still in the spectator article linked in the BBC one.
So OP, you are not the insane one here
Hopefully Badenoch thinking lunch is for wimps will lead to her getting burnt out. She has lunch brought in and has a steak, how much more out of touch can she get.
I feel like this whole article was put together to be able to post that picture of Ed and his sandwich.
'Asked by Sky News about Badenoch's comments, Miliband told Sky News, "I'm here for the sandwich content.
"I wish I could have a cross-party consensus here with Kemi Badenoch but I can't. I think I need to persuade her of the delights of a bacon sandwich." '
I love how Ed Miliband just doesn't give a fuck anymore and just shitposts
I think part of it is that Labour are quite happy to just go along with the Tory insanity, because it means that we are not talking about the winter fuel allowance anymore.
Kemi Badenoch is the leader of the Conservative party, and Leader of the Opposition. Why she's talking about sandwiches no one knows, though brain rot is a definite possibility.
She's not trying to make any kind of point. She's literally talking about sandwiches and her hatred of them. She legitimately feels that this is something that should be made public and that she needs to tell everyone about. She's nuts.
She's leader of the opposition because the only viable candidate managed to accidentally knock himself out of the race (not a good candidate, merely a moderately viable candidate). All that was then left was an insane conspiracy theorist, who at one point seriously suggested illegal immigrants had developed the ability to teleport, and her. The insane conspiracy theorist would probably be the safer choice.
If she's still around in 6 months time I'll be surprised.
Brexit not only predated Trump, but legitimised his campaign at a time when people were laughing him off as a joke candidate. The brain rot is everywhere, all the time.
It's big meal deal you need to watch out for. They're in bed with big crisp, big chocolate bar, and big drink. They're going to take the world for everything it's got, £3.99 at a time.
Why is it that every single one of her opinions has to be an expression of hatred? Does she actually like anything, or is it simply a matter that she doesn't hate everything.
I don’t really eat lunch, but that’s because I’m a wimp, not because lunch eaters are. I don’t get very hungry during the day and eating makes me tired, so I just don’t eat much at lunchtime.
Kemi: Sandwiches aren't real food. Having a lunch break is for whimps! I have people bring me STEAK and I eat it while I work! Also Kier plans on watching Love Actually and I plan to watch DIE HARD!!
(After being questioned) Kier's spokesperson: Quite weird you're asking about this, but I know he likes tuna sandwiches and the occasional cheese toastie...
You: omg how could Kier do this?? He's not a serious politician
Didn't read the article, because the headline didn't exactly give me hope that it wasn't going to be a waste of time. Both it, and the excerpt, also infer Starmer responded directly.
