That's not what the inside of a vagina looks like. The answer is that evolution caused that shape to be one that's good at causing a pleasure sensation from penetration of a vagina. However, other shapes also exist and also do this. The penis shape is just the classic option.

Yeah and I think part of why the joke annoys me is like, is that all some men think of themselves as? Like when I think of what I find particularly unattractive about men my first thought isn’t dick, it’s that smell that drives straight women crazy, it’s just such a turn off to me. So most places online that sell sex toys have very innocent names that they bill you under. They will often list it as "you will see this charged to innocent-sounding-name" so that you don't accidentally assume it's fraud on your statement.

Serious answer: sexuality is much more complicated and doesn't only involve sexual organs. Sexuality encompasses a social and cultural aspect as well. Including transwomen also means including women can have penises. Things like straight pegging is becoming more main stream as well. Just like how a lesbian uses a penis shaped dildo, a man using a dildo isn't necessarily gay, bi, or pan. There's also a biological function as well. Women and men did evolve concurrently together which means our genitals "fit together" which may explain why some people prefer a penis like dildo. I think this idea gets supported as we look at the plethora of dildo adjusted and created to really hit the spot like bad dragons and others.

The most likely reason, I suspect, is that "mainstream" sex toys were not made for lesbians until relatively recently. They were made for hetero women diagnosed with "hysteria" and, generally, by companies run by cis-het men.
