The man asked the woman how she thinks she is perceived. She answers wrong multiple times and then he lets her know the reality. (I thinkβI've never seen it).
So in this version of the meme the man asks Edge how it thinks it's perceived and it answers incorrectly.
Edge is not good. It is, at best, ok. It constantly gets in your way with its invasive βfeaturesβ. And the only parts of it that are good are the parts of it that are Chromium. Use any other better Chromium based browser if you want those.
Is this a compliment to Google? Edge is just chromium with few eye candies, custom settings and original tracking system replaced by Microsoft tracking system.
We know it is a good browser, Google engineers are in general good engineers
I mean... Maybe... Tastes I guess... I don't know, it looks and feel like chrome/chromium to me... Because it is. That are objectively pretty solid browsers. So it is edge, I'd say. I don't see anything notable. Just another flavor of chrome
A project being open source does not mean it isn't owned and controlled by a company. Chromium is entirely controlled by Google. It accepts contributions and fixes from others, but Google has the last say on everything, so it still has lots of Google telemetry.
Microsofts shenanigans with forcing you to use their browser is just ridiculous. They do allow you to switch to another browser but make it as annoying as possible and they constantly try to annoy you into switching again. I mean they own the whole os. They could literally just force you to use the browser and I bet nobody would care for like more than a month because windows is like the only feasible choice as an operating system for a lot of people.
Yeah and now they're inching their way into doing it again because fines are just the cost of business. Windows search can't use anything but Edge and Bing for example, and they've deliberately broken the modifications that allow you to work around that, multiple times. They made it much more difficult to switch default browsers, they made it so that if you tried to uninstall it it would come back the next time you updated, etc
It's Chromium in different (Microsoft branded) clothes with whatever gewgaws Microsoft can hang off it for contractual income. Occasionally there's a good reason to use edge over Chromium, but that's limited to shit like "it can stream 1080p content from Netflix" and such. It's not outright bad like ie was but I don't see the reason to use it daily over, say, Chromium.
Edge is good, yeah, but there are way better alternatives out there (privacy speaking). The closest ones being Vivaldi (in terms of features) and Floorp (Firefox fork).
I use Firefox because it came with Ubuntu and because I haven't had any issues with it, but I would've used Vivaldi if it weren't the case.
Me when praising Microsoft and all the other gigant companies for doing their best
Fr tho, if you use it that's fine. Most people here just like Foss (free and open source software), so that's why they're against it probably. I'm one of them. Use Firefox ig.
I think edge is fantastic for the m365 integration. It's absurdly cheap and easy to get your entire business set up with them+so/MFA, office, and email in a secure way. WSL is a great tool as well if you need to live in both technical and office land.
