I’d seen the 2017 date, but it’s been making the rounds again recently so I figured either it’s been long enough so most people haven’t ever heard of it, or it might’ve happened again. Thanks for finding the obituary. I was looking for it, but I had limited my searched to Florida and that that would be what tripped me up.
I'm not sure why the obituary coming from Texas is questionable, it's not like they'd have any reason to lie about her being dead... unless you're saying the cause of death is questionable?
no it’s just gonna be that the dates don’t exactly line up and it’s not a common name, but like for example when I went looking in Florida, I did find two other women of vaguely similar age who looked vaguely similar with the exact same first and last name
FWIW, there actually are safety nets set up around evictions with assisted living and nursing homes. It's actually one of the reasons those places are so expensive (mainly they want to bleed people dry before they go broke). "Independent living" places are for people who don't require medical assistance or constant nursing care. I don't think they're any more regulated than any other apartment.
You're right, it shouldn't be a private facility. It should be public owned. She's paid over 90 years of taxes, I'm sure she's paid enough to cover rent etc.
