Hands down, for the production money that went into it, The Hobbit trilogy.
This is the only movie series that legitimately made me mad. The book seemed so simple to adapt to the screen. Just follow the book, with a little cut out to help with screen time, and watch the money roll in. Instead, we got one of the worst book adaptations Hollywood's ever seen.
From the moment they decided to milk it for three movies I knew it was going to suck. It's a simple little adventure story ffs.

So it's actually impossible for me to have seen this movie, because it wasn't made and definitely doesn't exist, but The Last Airbender. I'm glad it doesn't actually exist, because if it did, then it would have been made by M. Night Shamalamadingdong and would have been some of the worst cinema ever created. Should this movie have actually existed, it would have been a sophomoric and badly made disaster with some of the worst writing, action, special effects, pacing, acting and a complete misunderstand of the source material.
If I were to have pirated it and watched it, I would still want a refund.
But that never happened, because there is no movie in Ba Sing Se.
Jupiter Ascending - Terrible acting, story & let's not talk about the CGI
Eddie Redmayne somehow managed to act well through the terrible script. Only redeeming part of the movie.

What a absolute shit show was that. The only part that was a little bit funny was with the stoner dude having a existential crisis with the talking food.
This movie was an unmitigated disaster. Awful, but not bad enough to enjoy because of it being bad. Too tone deaf to enjoy watching, not tone deaf enough to enjoy lampooning.
The second Transformers film was so bad I was actually angry when I left the cinema.

Star Wars:The Rise of Skywalker. I have never left a movie feeling like my intelligence was insulted until that movie.
That movie was ten times worse than TLJ, an a absolute shitfest from start to finish.

For the life of me I can’t understand this. It doesn’t even make sense from a business perspective. Like, yes people will pay to see this movie no matter what but that good will will dry up eventually. Setting aside stuff like Plan Nine and Manos and The Room and Birdemic, probably Star Trek XI, the one that JJ made. Splicing together test footage of Bela Lugosi and his chiropractor is one thing, but desecrating something beautiful is a sin.
The room is one of those movies that is just so bad it’s good.

In The Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale, starring Jason Statham and Ron Perlman. I saw it in theaters. When the evil army started loading their ninja turtle orcs into the catapults, setting them on fire, and launching them over Definitely-Not-Helm's-Deep, the audience started cracking up and openly making fun of it. It was a terrible movie.

The Super Mario movie is probably top of the list. The jokes fell flat and the entire movie was just Nintendo references. I get it's a kid movie, but damn, Pixar knows how to make a movie for all ages. I guess I was hoping for the same.

It's just torture-porn primarily featuring things like rape, pedophilia, etc. The most disgusting movie I've ever seen. Plot is contrived, and just serves as a vehicle to deliver the most disgusting scenes of sexual violence they could think of. Acting is OK I guess. It seems like a fairly high-budget movie.

I don't watch very many movies and this might be a controversial answer but the Hunger Games (at least the first movie, I've only seen the first one). It actually took me a whole month to watch it because the first time I tried to watch it, I fell asleep about 5 minutes in and I had to build up the mental fortitude to actually finish watching it. And it took me a total of three sittings to watch because I didn't have any connection to the story or the characters at all. I think I also remember the second half of the movie being actually good (not great, just good) but nothing really notable happens in the first half.
I think if they gave less time to the back story of the characters and focused more on the hunger games portion, it might have been fine.
Battlefield Earth.
I've seen a ton of bad movies over the years, but Moonfall has probably got to be the worst I've seen recently. Picture every possible disaster movie and sci-fi movie stereotype and trope... they are ALL in that film. I started laughing about halfway through and just couldn't stop, it was so bad

It's a so bad it's good kinda movie but Blood Diner. It's an 80s horror flick me and a buddy found at blockbuster on vhs when we were younger. Shit was hilarious.
Yes! Sheetar! That movie was a trip. There were so many odd choices, like wtf was up with the guy who is 100% puppet always sitting at the diner. I actually really like that band in the caveman getups at the end though and tracked them down. It's a guy name Dino Lee and he bills him self as "the king of white trash". I could only find one or two videos of them performing live and one record i picked up on diacogs for like $3.
Lol I was hoping someone would chime in about that movie. Its pretty wild. I vividly remember the scene with the car bouncing up and down oj hydraulics smashed that guys head and me just laughing really hard at how ridiculous it looked.

War of the Worlds, 2005, it's the only film so bad I was genuinely angry about it after I'd seen it. Not just a bad film it wasted my time.

I remember the movie really ramping up towards unconventional things, and then ending in disappointingly conventional ways. “And then the son with whom they got separated to a near-certain death is alive after all, and they find each other and get reunited.”
Also, as has been discussed to death at the time, the absolute lack of build-up towards the resolution, which leaves it with a taste of “wait, so why exactly did I watch what happens to this bunch of randos?”
I have nothing against people who liked it, but the final act felt like such a let-down compared to the beginning and middle of it, that I can’t really remember it positively.
It's like they half made the film and then got bored with it so they just said something like "and then all the aliens went away the end" with no real explanation or conclusion. I don't remember what exactly happened because obviously I've never wanted to rewatch it but I remember it really was something that cheap. All the time invested in it felt like it had gone to waste because there was no proper conclusion.
That's a bummer. It's one of my favorite movies. Granted I was a kid the first time I saw it

I can't remember the worst movie I've seen at home. I've seen so many lol. The worst theater movie had to be the one missed call remake. I watched the original Japanese film later and realized the missed important plot points that were vital to the story. Also it was neutered from a R rated Takashi Miike film to a boring pg-13 horror film. On the bright side it introduced me to Takashi Miike and I've been a fan ever since.
The worst movie I ever saw in a cinema was a Milla Jovovic flick called Ultraviolet.
How bad was it, you ask. Well, I would have left the cinema but my girlfriend was sleeping soundly and I didn't want to disturb her. Honestly, people were just looking at each other after the movie was over, openly laughing and talking to strangers about how bad it was. You could say it was so bad that it brought people together over how awful it was, so that's nice.
I actually like that movie. The over the top action does it for me. I've seen it a handful of times.
I love terrible movies and have seen all sorts, but for my money the absolute worst I have seen is Boggy Creek II: And the Legend Continues. Absolutely nothing happens for the entire duration of the film until the last 5 minutes. The DVD I had claimed there was a "terrifying incident at the public lake", but it's just someone falling off a jetski and getting back on it.
On the other hand, it did make for one of my favourite MST3K episodes

It's overly artsy fartsy for me. I didn't "get it" and when the metaphor was explained to me I was disappointed. The spiders made no sense to me initially, and when I learned what it was supposed to be, it felt like garbage nonsense from planet bullshit.

The Bruce Willis Death Wish remake.
Movies are well known to have a so-bad-it’s-good factor. Aside from watching something made with passion fail, sometimes a failing movie can be mildly elevated by having an interesting choice or concept. Maybe a single actor who is really giving a go and creates a memorable scene.
Death Wish has none of that. It is a flatline of a movie. Nothing is ever done with passion, nor is it ever entertainingly incompetently. The entire movie is nothing but bare minimum technical competence. There are no bizarre plot twists, no unique action, no nothing. It simply exists.

This movie is really really awful. ALL of the actors and actresses are so bad, it's not even good ironically. Just awful. I really don't mind B-Movies with a limited budget, as there are some out there, which are not bad. But this one in particular? The (badly made) rubber shark is a more convincing actor than any of the other protagonists of the movie. This movie is acted out so poorly that any movie you can watch on Sci-Fi are Hollywood quality in comparison. I dare you to watch the whole movie!

I used to have a crush on the Olsen twins and I made it through some unbearable films back in the early 2000s. I could tell "Getting There" and "When in Rome" were truly awful even though I was a wee teenager. Luckily they stopped making films shortly thereafter.

I've only walked out of 2 movies because they were so bad, and this is over 4 decades of being a pretty avid movie goer. Short Circuit 2 and 300. Just unwatchable and I don't have high standards.
