Angered by Paris ban, Russia's media scorns 'the Olympics of Hell'
Most Russian athletes are not allowed to compete in Paris due to their country's war in Ukraine.
Fucking cry. Maybe don't invade your neighbors you fucking cunts.

I disagree with that sentiment. Sport should never be political. In 16 years, countries from the West might get excluded when China takes over as the next world power nation. I bet you wouldn't like that, would you?
Besides, sports can be the only necessary link between countries during such times. Additionally, if Russia participated, the broadcasting would have been drastically different and the opinion of the population would be too.
It does no direct harm inviting the athletes to compete so we should just let them.
1 35 Replyrussia is banned because their athletes keep being caught for taking performance enhancing drugs.
9 0 ReplyBut. Sport has always been political. All this fluff about the beauty of sports is just for show. It's all about soft power.
2 0 ReplyWhat Takes you to assume, that russia would Broadcast the olympics at all (or uncensored) even when russian athletes would be competing.
In a ideal world, yes, politics should Not Play any part in Sports, nor in sciences. Hence it is, as we are not living in that world, so we would have to adjust accordingly.

“I thought the Olympic Games were about sport. No longer,” Russian MP Mariya Butina tells me.
“It’s about politics, religion, everything. It’s very sad because the original idea of the Olympics was to create peace.”
“But Russia has invaded Ukraine,” I point out. “That’s not ‘peace’, is it?”
“Russia has been protecting its people,” Ms Butina responds, echoing the official line here that Russia’s war in Ukraine is all about self-defence.
In reality, the Kremlin’s "special military operation" amounts to the invasion of a sovereign independent nation.
Good to see the media not 'both siding' for once.

3 1 ReplyYou're kidding, I don't ever recall seeing the ruzzians at the games before.
This must be a fun little mass hallucination from the great country of ruzzia. We never let shitheels play with us 🤷
