Where's everybody from?
Just curious how spread out we are. I'm up in West Yorkshire myself.
Edited to add: Hi /all! Please remember this is a UK-based community, just in case you're confused. But you are of course welcome. :)
(Please remember that anything you post on the Fediverse might stay on other instances forever, even if you delete it from yours. I'd recommend you not get any more specific than county or local authority level.)
Australia. It's a fair walk.
10 0 ReplyCanada... This post appeared on my feed on kbin.social 🤷
I am addicted to UK panel shows and comedy though, so there's a connection?
9 1 ReplyFavorite panel show?
3 0 ReplyI love QI and Cats does Countdown. And although it's not exactly a panel show, I'm a big fan of Taskmaster.

How on earth did you end up in !UKCasual? Not a criticism or anything, I'm just curious. :)
4 0 ReplyUsually people ask me how the hell I ended up in Wyoming, which is also a fair question. But, as 1st mentioned, you were on the front page.

Germany, now living in South East England. Not a fan, to be honest with you. I'll have to stay a bit longer but I don't see a future here. Housing, cost of living, healthcare, blatant government corruption (or, as it's called here, "sleaze", I don't know why people aren't calling it out for what it is), an out-of-control Met, systematic neglect of reports of domestic violence and the regular news of women who had reported it, got ignored and then killed by their abusive partners... The list goes on. I really love this country, the countryside here is stunning (especially in the south in the summer), people are so friendly, I have really enjoyed living here, despite lockdowns and the questionable food. But it's just too much that's going wrong to stay here long-term, sadly
7 1 ReplyA lot of that seems to be a London problem rather than a UK problem, but we'll not discuss the P word here.
4 0 ReplyI don't live in London. What's the P word?

I'm up in Wigan - always feels like on the internet everyone is in London or down south!
4 0 ReplyI'm so sorry to hear you're in Wigan. Get well soon. /joke
4 0 ReplyHaha to be honest I actually quite like it, the cost of living is low, I can get to everything I need by walking/cycling/bus/train (don't drive by choice), so I can't really complain!
I also lived in York for a little bit and that was really nice, albeit somewhat expensive, so I had to move back.
