We were told by democrats that we have to "reach across the aisle" to fascist republicans for decades. Just this last election they kissed infamous war criminal dick cheney's ass while sending billions to the far-right government of israel while they're committing genocide. Somehow this approach would not result in fascism eventually.

This would be a clear violation of the 1st Amendment, so any "investigative threats" should not be considered in any way as "threats". They should instead be reported to the public as evidence of unamerican activity and disloyalty to America and American values.

Honestly, and other people on Lemmy acting like this election is the ONLY thing that caused this moment are real ignorant, this has been building for decades. If the Party Loyalists had pushed their party to be GOOD instead of just being "not the other guy" we wouldn't be in this moment.
I am SO sick of this blame-shifting argument. Everyone who didn't show up to vote for the only "not Trump" candidate likely to win is 100% partially responsible for what we're dealing with now. I get it, it’s too late to go back to an era where radio waves were free, but the FCC has way too stringent rules. They should worry about things like protecting critical devices from interference and ensuring companies don’t fuck people over (monopolies, robocalls, stuff like that)
