It could be the franchise owners getting squeezed like they did with Quiznos. If you have to buy Chipotle ingredients from Chipotle, and they’ve raise d the prices of those ingredients, but you’re not allowed to raise customer prices — it could result in smaller portions without a directive coming from corporate.
How can they even say that? The new quesadilla is literally designed to have less surface area filled with meat / cheese. It also costs double. I'm still mad, and have for the most part stopped going. The OG quesadilla was a banger.

Yea, from what I remember when I lived there (granted, this was two decades ago) the portions were enormous and could definitely be a lot smaller. Not to mention the size of the soda cups (soda buckets would be more accurate).
