Lol I used to have this am pm shift happening when I did rotating day/night shift. I'd wake up in a darkened room with an analogue clock and no idea whether it was say 2am or 2pm. Very disorientating!

I love playing network engineer. Really all I did was unplug some cables then plug some different cables in, but it was still so much fun. I also made our internet not be as shit as I thought it was. Went from 200-500ms latency at 20mbps to 50-150 latency at 50-60mbps
I'm not sure how well the new router will handle multiple devices and concurrent transfers though. It's pretty much just a test and a way to make the internet usable for now. The old router sucked, but it could handle 20 devices just fine. The new ones for all these features but it's on the cheaper side, so I have my doubts
Edit: and changing the DNS server to 1.1.1.1 has removed the last bit of slowdown I was noticing. Telstra's DNS is kinda shit ngl. For the last 6 months I've had to use CloudFlare warp or my mobile data to access aussie.zone because it never worked otherwise. I ended up narrowing it down to Telstra's DNS acting like it's never heard of an Aussie zone in its entire life, which is how I learnt what DNS even is and how it works
ISPs often choose not to obey TTL on dns records too, because they don’t want to waste the bandwidth refreshing the records. Can be problematic. I usually use 8.8.8.8 (Google)
That'd probably explain why it was always giving me issues. CloudFlare has a form that I can fill out to purge the record cache for certain websites if need be. I set Google's DNS as secondary, but I like and trust CloudFlare more than I do google, so I've always just used them

I don't really mind the ones that are painted on blank surfaces like on the backside of the freeway signs and near socro, but I do mind the ones painted directly on the trains. There's a few posts on his insta where he's tagged up an entire train with massive birds covering the windows, which forces trains to be pulled out of service and cleaned. He's even done a few directly onto the drivers cab windscreens, which forces the train to be taken out of service wherever it's noticed

Had a new pump in the sump installed recently to feed the tanks and it is not turning off when emptied. I believe the float valve is giving incorrect instruction!

last time my toilet was acting up i removed its helmet, gave it an angry stare, starved it of water and made it work an extra order. It said sorry won’t do that again

I've got a dual partition on my laptop and dual boot between windows and Ubuntu. But Ubuntu seems to have booked my windows partition after an update. I don't keep anything important on either partition, or even do anything important on the laptop, so it's no big loss. But I used the windows partition for meetings and 3D printing things.
The drive seems to be working fine though, and I can still access my windows drive through Ubuntu, so it's probably fixable when I've got the time and brain capacity to figure out what the hell is even wrong with it
Do you have two bootloader entries in the BIOS? Or were you using GRUB (or Systemd-boot) to boot between them?
It's probably easy to fix, it's just knowing exactly what happened is probably the most complicated step lol
Hope you're able to fix it. Having the different OSes on different drives (portable drive in case of laptop) seems to cause the least amount of issues with boot entries dying after updates.
It's setup to use GRUB I'm pretty sure. After windows started refusing to boot, GRUB/Ubuntu started yelling about the environment block being too small, although it didn't prevent Ubuntu from starting up I fixed it anyways by deleting and recreating it (following this), which fixed it.

It really is lol. Doesn't help that windows error messages are either hyper specific (or more commonly) so vague they're next to useless with absolutely no in between. Since the error message is hard drive related, all the Microsoft support articles and forum posts are mostly suggesting that the hard drive is completely dead with no hope of recovery and to buy a new one, although since it seems to be working completely fine through Ubuntu I'm doubting that's the case
Looking forward to the reunion for mafs, last few episodes have been a snore fest. Don't think I'll be watching future seasons though, been getting more and more obvious with the forced storylines by the producers and clear terrible matches.
Sometimes I read the mafs subreddit despite never having seen an episode.

Movie Review.
This is my 3rd movie about tv weather guys. Ground Hog Day, The Weatherman and today's movie, All Hail.
All Hail, from some of the team who brought you The Revenant and Bardo.
This movie has the same feel as Bardo. I admit I love this kind of cinematography/direction, it uses familiar ways to set the scene, it's feels up close and personal looking at actors without making you feel uncomfortable, it all feels natural and it's so easy to let the story happen. Every actor is perfectly cast. Every set and location is just right, every camera angle .
It makes everyday life and our world look so beautiful .
Seems to me this team loves to use the elements to tell a story, fire, ice, water, air, earth. There is always an interaction between people and the elements that is part of the story.
It's the story of a very well educated tv meteorologist who starts to believe the hype of his own forecasting record. It's about pride. Not as bad as Bill Murray who brought a curse down upon himself by saying "I make the weather". This guy, Miguel, brings a mild curse by saying "I guarantee it".
So he fails, is condemned and he must find redemption and grace by getting back in touch with real people and his family, not just users and stans, and getting back in touch with nature.
I had to look up who Professor Neurus was. 🤔
4.5 hobbits. So easy to watch, that's why I think watching twice would be a good idea.

Useful shopping this weekend for some winter clothes which needed replacing. 2 hoodies and a pair of track pants. Looking forward to coziness. Although it’s annoying that things just don’t last like they used to, quality is so much lower than it used to be.
