  • Unpleasant dream where Robert F Kennedy Jr dies

In my dream, there was a device just like this one except any human touching it turns into a bug and is fried: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kljtVtXIBrQ

The device killed Robert F Kennedy Jr. Him suddenly becoming a dead bug was creepy and enraging. I could feel the unpleasant victory of the 2 major parties. It was the opposite of the calming real life experience of discovering his presidential campaign. A while after I woke up, I checked Wikipedia to make sure he's alive.

This dream can be interpreted as a warning to give Secret Service protection to Robert F Kennedy Jr.

Edit: I also see life a little differently now.

I once was at a Mass where in the homily the priest confessed to doing an intrusion so that he could see Jesus during Good Friday

  • If you fill your life with fulfilling interactions with people, hobbies and passions, you won’t even have the time for harmful addictions.

Those things would be part of a positive feedback loop, and it might not be able to be the first part. The ability to enjoy them is reduced until the brain is fully healed from the addiction.

  • Getting closer to marriage and approaching your full earthly potential are the same thing (assuming they're done perfectly)
  • My idea might make more sense if you don't think of it as being connected to intentions. Also, it fails to describe what comes after marriage is reached.

With that being said, I am not totally certain of how true my idea is.

  • Getting closer to marriage and approaching your full earthly potential are the same thing (assuming they're done perfectly)
  • The autism spectrum.

Actually the main thing I'm on is a great adventure that started less than a year ago in which I built social confidence from scratch and recently figured out how to have balanced focuses when it comes to pursuing girls while still working hard enough to get out of my comfort zone.

  • Getting closer to marriage and approaching your full earthly potential are the same thing (assuming they're done perfectly)
  • The narrow view you're talking about is bad for success in dating, so it's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about things like working on yourself, having your own life, being an interesting person, becoming more confident, etc.

  • Getting closer to marriage and approaching your full earthly potential are the same thing (assuming they're done perfectly)
  • This assume nobody can reach their potential unless they marry.

In practice, my shower thought has nothing of value to those who are not on that path, but I gave this comment some thought anyway.

Technically, reaching 100% of our earthly potential requires experiencing the highest level of earthly love and using our ability to reproduce. In practice, no one reaches 100%, and we probably can reach 99% without a spouse and kids.

Even most religion would disagree with your idea considering most use chastity and isolation as a means to reach enlightenment.

Since I'm Catholic, I believe that in a religious vocation, earthly things are given up for supernatural things. In my post, I said "earthly" to exclude religious vocations and Heaven.

  • Getting closer to marriage and approaching your full earthly potential are the same thing (assuming they're done perfectly)

Edit: "getting closer to marriage" is about the whole journey starting from being completely single

Edit: if this shower thought is too confusing to be useful to you, then here is a quote that gives some of the same guidance, is simpler, less philosophical, but less broad: “Don’t waste your time chasing butterflies. Mend your garden, and the butterflies will come” - Mario Quintana

How I taught my classmates about libre software

In economics class, we had to present a business plan. Mine was a coding summer camp for kids. I said the mission was "creating a generation of people who can work towards a bright future for the world." In the slide that lists aspects of supporting that mission, two items were "libre software" and "contributing" These were my verbal explanations:

Libre software: "...teaching the vision of a world without non-libre software and encouraging kids to work towards it by only making libre software, which means software that grants freedoms to users, such as seeing and changing the source code, so it is controlled by users instead of just companies..."

Contributing: "...and briefly introducing the process of creating and submitting contributions to code, which many libre software projects in the real world accept from anyone."

How to download Google Docs version history (easy way, doesn't include how to use the downloaded file)

Run this javascript code with the document open in the browser: https://codeberg.org/dullbananas/google-docs-revisions-downloader/src/branch/main/googleDocsRevisionDownloader.js

Usually this is possible by pasting it into the Console tab in developer tools. If running javascript is not an option, then use this method: https://lemmy.ca/post/21276143

You might need to manually remove the characters before the first { in the downloaded file.

How to download Google Docs version history (hard way, doesn't include how to use the downloaded file)

    1. Copy the document ID. For example, if the URL is https://docs.google.com/document/d/16Asz8elLzwppfEhuBWg6-Ckw-Xtfgmh6JixYrKZa8Uw/edit, then the ID is 16Asz8elLzwppfEhuBWg6-Ckw-Xtfgmh6JixYrKZa8Uw.
    2. Open this URL: https://docs.google.com/document/u/1/d/poop/revisions/load?id=poop&start=1&end=1 (replace poop with the ID from the previous step). You should see a json file.
    3. Add 0 to the end of the number after end= and refresh. Repeat until you see an error page instead of a json file.
    4. Find the highest number that makes a json file instead of an error page appear. This involves repeatedly trying a number between the highest number known to result in a json file and the lowest number known to result in an error page.
    5. Download the json file. You might need to remove the characters before the first {.

I found the URL format for step 2 here:

    https://features.jsomers.net/how-i-reverse-engineered-google-docs/

I am working on an easy way. Edit: here it is https://lemmy.ca/post/21281709
