Weird story. Went to St. patricks cathedral with an ex and her aunt (who was a devout catholic). She was bangin' on about how god was everywhere 'like the internet'. 'In walls, in the air'. A few hours earlier she asked me to set up her wifi / chuck in the router password on her phone to use ex's internet at ex's home.. so I asked her if god forgets his password too.
Good sirs, if you are going to have the balls to charge 25 dollars for a Calabrese salad then, for the love of god, the tomatoes better not be CRUNCHY. And the cheap arse everyday toms from the supermarket. 😡 It's only three ingredients FFS.
This is what I get for thinking I am going to have a little early treat because I have been disciplined this year so far. Back to home cooked.
Okay I’m going to officeworks. What pens do you want?
Edit: ok I’m back from the shop. I have pastel highlighters, 72 pack of Derwents, erasable ink pens some with double eraser, 4 colour pens enough for everyone, a Windsor and Newton purple, fancy green fountain pen, pack of pilot pens, and an mega multicolour pen. Also box of Bics because they are an icon, and everyone gets a multi pack of coloured post-its because they were near the cashier and who can resist them.
New phone probably arriving today. As a kid would've been excited but not these days so got an el' cheapo crappy one (oppo something or rather).
Old iphone refuses to charge I think because of bringing into the ocean so many times and the charging port has corroded lol. Worth it though. Had to be replaced anyway but I'm glad it kicked the bucket doing what it loved.
this is the leading argument in my mind to jump ship every so often. Samsung to iphone? Huge. Samsung to Samsung or iphone to iphone? meh. Running my poor 13 into the ground till theres something worth upgrading, like the 120hz display on the new pros.
30-60 minutes with a new phone, and it looks identical to my old phone.
If I took a screenshot of my phone from 10 years ago, it'd be close enough to my present phone as to be indistinguishable.
Where they differ is the quality of the photos I take. I still took my DSLR around most of the time 10 years ago. I rarely bother these days. It still takes better photos, but the difference is not worth the effort unless I'm specifically going some place to take photos.
finally got to a ripe strawberry before whatever is eating them (despite being net'ed I might ad). God it was good! Only 1, and not massive but it was so sweet and flavorful how do you ever go back to store brought ones after that?!
You don't. Homegrown strawbs have spoiled me for life. As has homegrown asparagus, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers and green beans. And quite a lot of other veg that I haven't grown for a while now. But home strawbs a pretty damn special.
man dont talk to me about tomatoes at the moment. tomatoes are probably the biggest stress point in my life right now.
Got a decent amount but still very very green and the plants are clearly in distress.
Can confirm, have received these at Chinese(ish) weddings.
The time I was Best Man at such a wedding, I probably broke even - which is saying something as I spent a fair bit on that wedding (good friends).
[Chinese(ish) because not all the couples were actually Chinese. The Best Man one was Malaysian; another wedding was Singaporean]
You can get the 100 pack of Maltofer for ≈$53.90 by price matching at Chemist Warehouse at the moment. There's also a new catalogue starting tomorrow and it might be on special, usually they take it down to $55.
Rode into work today for the first time and it's a pleasant ride. This is also comparing a 15km ride to a 33km ride into the city. I also don't have to cart a laptop to work, and I'm not towing a trailer full of kids which I usually do on the bike
That's cool! The fact they've released it open source, you can run it locally, and see what/how it's thinking has made it much more interesting I think than any of the other models. I've avoided using any generative AI for a lot of different reasons, but this one I might play with...
Panettone is a sweetened bread - very like brioche, but it takes much much longer to go stale. Soak a 3 cm thick slice of panettone in milk, or a mix of 1 beaten egg and milk, let it sit for half an hour to absorb the liquid. Then fry in butter until golden brown. Enjoy with jam and icecream on top or even bacon & egg. Or cut a 2 cm thick slice and just have it plain with coffee. Maybe a bit of butter on top if you are feeling fancy. Or just toast slices for breakfast. All this applies to the 'normal' panettone with fruit in it. If you've been given the chocolate sauced sort or the lemon sauced sort - then just cut slices and eat with coffee or a glass of something. I prefer the ordinary sort as more flexible. Intended (and ideal) for providing a quick snackette when unexpected guests come over - just cut up and put on a plate.
lost my favorite pair of glasses. no worries go to order a replacement, except they don't do them any more. god damn it now I gotta go start the process all over again!
I didn’t know that Baci chocolates come with a quote inside. This one I had was this: “Love life more than its logic, for only then will you grasp its meaning”
Maybe eating discount 7/11 sandwiches two days in a row wasn't the best idea. Either that or something else is definitely setting off the fart machine big time today
Bit of an itch to scratch with medical dramas so I tried watching Brilliant Minds. Dear lord this is absolute schlock compared to The Pitt. The direction is cliche, the dialogue is revoltingly bad and Zachary Quinto absolutely can't act. Terminated
Maybe I should try watching Scrubs some day... maybe that could be my treat when I finish uni.
I've been thinking about watching it after reading all about how The Pitt is basically the spiritual successor of ER and how that show was the OG premium medical drama...
I absolutely can't get into a long show until I finish uni though because I can totally see myself avoiding my commitments by binge watching for weeks 🥲
Late reply, it might be a bit triggering if you have had any traumatic experiences in medical settings including the care of others (this is why I haven't recommended it to my brother). Or cathartic, depending on which phase you're in...
Lots of high praise from drs about the accuracy of most medical details but also the dynamics and characters, environment etc. To the point that it's a bit too real and too similar to work so not enjoyable for some haha.
Loooong day. Just got home & showered. I drove home and don’t feel like I was concentrating at all. You know when you drive on familiar roads and wonder how on earth you got home? I’m that level of exhausted.
Arrrgh, adaway via VPN is not blocking in-app ads and I am SEETHING - it's like getting STDs on your phone, these disgusting full screen sound on ads are absolute cancer after decades of blocking ads successfully.
Will need to hope and pray the DNS blocklist method works again later this week
There are shade cloth triangles you can stretch over an area tying at the corners but you need something to tie it to like a fence. If you don’t you can make a temporary box frame of pipes and drape a sheet over.
I have a cat enclosure I could use for the purpose but it’s too small to use with how I spaced the pumpkins out in the ground. And the tomatoes with their stakes are too tall.
If I could have prepared better and had more money I would have had some kind of plan. I don’t really have the time or energy to sort it out beyond pulling the smaller pots in and giving the bigger/in ground plants water -_-
