DDT is an extreme way to get rid of mosquitos. Seal up the gaps in your window screens. Keep the bedroom door closed. It's working for me during mosquito season on the subtropical island where I live.

Bedbugs have evolved resistance to DDT.
DDT is what killed off Malaria in Europe (and probably in most of the US too, but I don't know as much about that).
It saved a hundred thousand times more lives than it may have cost.Yep, same in America. 10-seconds after we wiped out malaria we told the rest of the world to get fucked. "Oh, you can produce DDT, but we won't trade with you if you do."
A decade-long push and we could have eradicated malaria, then banned it. We got ours, fuck the rest of you. Now it's a brown people problem, just as intended.
