The Supreme Court has rejected appeals from three Republican U.S. House members who challenged fines for not wearing face coverings on the House floor in 2021.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected appeals from three Republican U.S. House members who challenged fines for not wearing face coverings on the House floor in 2021.

The justices did not comment on leaving in place $500 fines issued in May 2021 to U.S. Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Ralph Norman of South Carolina.

- Can we sue them for wasting resources or something?
  
  You can sue anyone for anything, you just need to be in congress to have your frivolous case dismissed by the SC instead of a low level judge.

- Which begs the question, can you appeal anything to the Supreme Court? And either way, how did it get that far that an appellate court didn’t stay the lower courts ruling? How does that work?
  
  You can appeal any judgement. It is up to the higher courts to decide to hear your case. Which they often do not.
  
  You could if the appeal and the court disagree, at every level of the justice system.

Remember come election season that these people are wasting the government’s time with this frivolous appeal, trying to make a statement, over a sum of money that amounts to less than 0.3% of their nominal annual salary.
- I guarantee that, aside from any court filing costs, no money changed hands. There are plenty of angry political hacks that have law degrees who would take this on for free just to own the libs.
