The North Carolina Board of Elections ruled that Joseph Gibson III is eligible to run for a state House seat.

Earlier this month, Democrat members of the Rockingham Elections Board had voted to keep Gibson on the ballot, while Republicans wanted to block his candidacy.
Stephen Wiley, the caucus director for the North Carolina House Republicans, who has been a vocal opponent to Gibson’s candidacy, claimed Democrats wanted to keep him in the race so they could campaign on the idea that GOP voters were in bed with nazis.
“Democrats decided they wanted a Nazi in the Republican primary, so that if even one person votes for him they can say ‘Look, Republicans support Nazis,’” Wiley told WRAL.
The vote by North Carolina’s Board of Elections now clears Gibson to compete in the GOP primary against state Rep. Reece Pyrtle.

In other words, contrary to Stephen Wiley's blatant self-serving lies that you quoted, the real reason Democrats voted to keep Gibson on the ballot was that the law required it and they were following the law. That's in stark contrast to the Republicans on the board, by the way, who voted to deprive him of his rights.
Also, we all damn well know that if the Democrats had voted the other way, the Republicans would've been screeching and crying crocodile tears about Democrat tyranny depriving an upstanding Republican of their lawful candidacy and leveraging it as an excuse to pretend what's going on with Trump is part of a pattern and thus a conspiracy to suppress Republicans, or some bullshit like that.

Those were claims by the republican party. Read further on and it stated it would have been illegal to deny them. So the democrats did what was legal, the republicans wanted to do something illegal, and then claimed it was part of some liberal agenda.
