No sex. No dating. No marriage. No children. Interest grows in 4B movement to swear off men
  • I'm not saying to force everyone to vote. But if mandatory voting was a thing I'd say put a new candidates opinion in, and if it gets over 50% of the popular vote, all new candidates required would be an interesting change. Probably has holes, but what the hell, I'll try anything rather than this 2 party money fueled government we have now

  • Yep, it's pretty normal
  • I use similar glasses, and there are better odds that there would be apple juice in that glass than white wine. If so, it could even be the kids. I understand people fear kids around glass, but if the kids around it often, they probably don't flail

  • Donald Trump tells Putin not to escalate Ukraine war in post-election call
  • Guessing they meant as a violation of the Logan act. As he is not in office he isn't supposed to be negotiating with foreign governments. The U.S. is providing military aid, and in truth not that he cares, but he isn't up to date on U.S. Intel. Maybe they'll tell us it was another law though

  • MAGA heads would explode
  • What could go wrong, except you throw fuel on a fire of hatred, and give the right reason to believe she will refuse to step down, causing well, who knows. I'm going to say that would ups the odds of arrests of democratic officials and citizens killed/insured/domestic terrorism what not.

  • Congress Is About to Gift Trump Sweeping Powers to Crush His Political Enemies
  • I'm waiting for the I started enacting this bill that hasn't even gone through the legislature yet, with the claims of "I needed to speed up the process". Similar to the other article someone posted about the Senate not needing to approve cabinet positions because it will save time.

  • That data was irrelevant to the premise. I could also have listed how many men, women, and chariots voted, but it really doesn't do anything more than show that if there is a 2 party system, it would be nice to have the winner near 50%. Id like to see everyone vote.

  • 22% of Americans voted for Trump. 78% did not. I can tell you I voted and was offered to answer none of those questions from that site. So I'm going to say none of them represent all of the voters if you don't actually ask all of the voters.

Just for the sake of more information: 337m Percentage over 18 ~78% That makes about 262m voters possible. 74m vote for Trump makes 28-29% of possible votes in 2024 81m votes for Biden in 2020, population was around 331m then. About 31-32% of the possibilible votes.

Point being, people need to vote. Making voting easier makes it possible to ensure you get a more complete tally of what people want in a democracy. People shouldn't have to jump through hoops to say they won't be in town, and will be working or w.e else to convince someone that a mail in ballot is wanted.
Should have a request a ballot button online as well. Why mail a form in to have the forms sent to you. Gets rid of some waste there too.

  • Why does that say they don't have U.S. citizenship? They are natural U.S. citizens. Also U.S. appointed governor sounds a fishy title for a governor that is voted on by only the citizens of Puerto Rico. So yes they are "U.S. appointed" but the U.S. citizens appointing them are the residents of Puerto Rico.

President Obama also went there and said he would support whatever they chose https://web.archive.org/web/20230124035101/https://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/15/us/politics/15obama.html

Note: it may also be the easiest way to get a U.S. citizenship that many overlook. I have seen somewhere you can get a citizenship in PR with only 1 year of residency.

As for racism, yes that will exist for a few generations likely even after statehood, wish we could fix that but we backtracked a lot lately there it seems.

  • FDA to pull common but ineffective cold medicine from market
  • I assume they submitted the results and stated they need to be removed, then reviewed the supreme courts measure that stated they only have power to make measures if Congress grants them privilege to do so (precidence, set in Julyish of 2022 with the EPA) making the specialized divisions of government created by Congress illegitimate unless Congress votes on the measure afterwards, making them just superficial recommendations for Congress to wait and see what their lobbyists think is okay.

Aka will drug companies pay enough to keep us lying to the public, vs maybe we will go by the recorded data.

Exon mobile recorded their data of environmental impacts in what year? And we had battery powered vehicles traveling up to 100 miles before that time. Instead of doing what was best for the future of the people, we chose what was best for profits. Point being. what power did they have to remove them from the shelves. I assume they are launching these last ditch efforts before Biden leaves, and praying to get some support before they get chiseled away at.

Imagine where we would be if GM/Ford and such started forcing the R&D in 1975 instead of 2005, 2015 or whatever we call it now

  • I believe Puerto Rico chose to not become a state most of the last 20 years. 2012 was the last real vote I remember. 55% or such wanted to become a state. But it was a small part of the population. 5% voted for independence. They are the world's oldest colony if I remember (Guam same time). End of the Spanish Civil War in 1898.

We joined WW2 because a territory like Puerto Rico was attacked. I'm not sure why people liked Hawaii so much more other than propaganda tied to it having a good military base location. Also, not saying people shouldn't have liked Hawaiins, just that clearly our view of the two territories is drastically different. I could almost guarantee the support percentage drops even more if it came to defending the people in Guam. Most people don't even remember they are a territory, more remember part of Semoa than Guam around me

  • My dad went on a rant how Puerto Ricans are all lazy and just grift off the system to live off benefits. His only grandkids are born to a Puerto Rican, who passed the bar becoming a lawyer. (Prior to having kids with my only sibling)

Throw in that "no black people can raise kids", and it was enough for me to cut contact.

  • Fuck Musk, Fuck "X"
  • He is the reason he has a loss in purchasing power. Imagine if he has focused on upgrading hardware/tech. Roughly 6 million Tesla's have been sold. We know he spent around 3 billion buying chips from NVIDIA to funnel the money elsewhere used for other projects. That's $500 dollars extra per car ever sold that could have been put into lidar and other research and development. Since he really wouldn't need to put it in the older models, he could have used that money alone to produce a cheap well built $25k EV. And had to the money for full self driving in more expensive versions. Poof, Tesla would have gained support instead of losing support.

His toxicity is what cost Twitter so many users, and advertising money. He could be worth 400billion right now and growing fast if he had focused on his companies growth and not yelling at clouds.

    App Server for phone apps

60 million apps keep getting pushed on us, and everyone wants their own... Every restaurant, gorcery store, etc.

Would it not be feasible to install all of those Kroger, Gas Stations, bloat, bloat, bloat apps on an app Server that we just have a remote access to them like a thin client from our phone in a singular app of shortcuts (look like a folder, directory) So all the apps stay installed and don't use resources on the phone. Which keeps storage requirements down on the local device and means when you go into another device you can just log in and have access to all the apps already signed in and how you left them.

Does anyone know if there is already such a setup?

It wouldn't work well with things like streaming services, but it could still cover a lot of day to day apps I don't really want to have to have on my device.
