Unlike in Trump’s first term, Democratic voters say 2-to-1 they want party leaders to fight rather than compromise, even at the risk of not getting things done, per the NBC News poll.
They lack unity and any sort of definitive leadership. They're a rudderless ship in a storm. What consensus they can muster among the older ranks is to not upset their wealthy donors, so any chance of creating a policy to invigorate the working class is out of the question. Any policy that is good for the working class will tap the brakes on the unfettered looting being done by the ruling class, so that's a no starter for the establishment Democrats.
What the people want, what some in congress want, what some states want, and what lobbyists want are all different things.
The only thing that Congress and the politicians listen to is money. 90% of the population's wants are ignored, only those who have an income much higher than most Americans are considered, no matter how popular an idea or bill is.
The leader of our upper house, the Senate, recently swapped their vote to approve a bill Republicans, along with 9 others. They could filibuster like Republicans have before in similar seat counts, but aren't. People are pissed, nationally.
The last candidate from the Democrat is not popping up right now, I don't think any candidates really speak up after they lose from either party, except Trump because he's always the outlier.
The last Democrat in the oval office is properly just trying to retire in peace, I don't recall seeing anything with Biden lately, I think he's just trying to lay low with the pardons on his family.
The lower house, the House of Representatives is also Republican controlled. I last heard they might be drafting up a lawsuit and maybe new articles of impeachment to Trump.
The only chance we have is the total elimination of private money involvement in politics, and at this point I'm not sure if we're so far gone that even that'll undo the cancer rotting our system.
They have, and the results of their soul searching are as clear as the last time they lost to trump: nothing.
If anything, they're more likely to double down and compete with the republicans on the corporate dick sucking, making it even more apparent to the working class that, with how bad the republicans are, they're just not an alternative...
Instead of splitting into a multi-party democracy, the US is just devolving into a single party state
Maybe make the signs a little bit bigger... They need more Al Greens. Now. 31 % of the voters voted for trump. Around 40 didn't even vote. They'll loose more votes doing nothing, than actually doing something
Apparently the Democrats have a favourability rating of 29% ("a record low in CNN’s polling dating back to 1992 and a drop of 20 points since January 2021") while the Republicans have a favourability rating of 36%.
That GOP number is right around Trump's floor, interestingly enough. The GOP is a cult and Dems are angry at their politicians, so this doesn't surprise me.
I think 36% is the near constant number Trump has ever gotten, that's the percent of Americans who are devoted to their idol. I think the lowest polling ever was Dubya pre-9/11, and the highest ever was Dubya post-9/11.
