So, as we begin another week: what are your little vices or guilty pleasures that help you get through the day?
a practice, behaviour, or habit generally considered morally wrong in the associated society. In more minor usage, vice can refer to a fault, a negative character trait, a defect, an infirmity, or a bad or unhealthy habit
Too much caffeine. Northern latitude winter is tough. Coffee helps me through. I managed to avoid the siren song of energy drinks at the store today. Got some sparkling water instead.
I smoke a lot of weed, so I guess that. But I also don’t really believe in feeling guilty for pursuing pleasure - I spent too long doing that as a Catholic, and I have no desire to go back.
Ah, then the answer is definitely smoking weed for me. It’s not for everyone, and I have no judgement for those that don’t partake. But it is really much less harmful than most people are led to believe, and I find that joint of a good strain at the end of a long day is a great way to relax and have a nice chill evening.
Diet coke and potato chips (crisps) are my junk foods, I eat mostly healthy and mostly food made from food but those crispy crisps and fizzy soda, so delicious and zero nutrition.
A drink a few days a week but not every day. Sex every day. Sleeping until I wake up naturally.
So I guess I hit on gluttony (sort of), sloth, and lust.
Easy! I'd have to say the Tudor Black Bay Heritage. It was my first Swiss watch, and I loved it ever since it came out in 2012. Long before I could afford one. I cut an ad out of a jewelry store catalog and hung it in my cube as a "someday" kind of inspiration, and couldn't afford one until 2020. I picked it up March 5, pretty much right before that whole year went to crap.
It's also the watch I wore when my daughter was born, so there's a lot of memories associated with it.
It's not super expensive, as far as luxury watches go. And there are a lot of things about it that other watch collectors don't like. Oh, there's no crown guards. Oh, you can't have Snowflake hands with round indices. Oh, it's too thick. Oh, the riveted bracelet looks bulky. But I love all those things, and it was the inspiration of more than one Invicta mod of mine until I could get it.
