No. It's not about that at all. It's about destroying their energy supplies for vehicles, airplanes, etc. It's a strategic attack to limit their resources and slow then down.

You cut the fuel, the vehicles and planes can't go anywhere. It's a basic strategy.

I think the only positive that may come out of all this conflict is the decimation of oil and gas infrastructure in Russia and the Middle-East. It's already forced Europe to transition away from natural gas faster.

It's not going to do anything for emissions in the short term, because oil vats going up in smoke isn't exactly green, but with any luck countries will need to find alternatives before capacity can be built back.
