Nothing will kill my enjoyment of a show faster than the seemingly inevitable and obligatory musical episode. I pray it just stops at one since that’s probably my only hope.
You just named 2 of my favorite episodes. Clearly they just weren't for you? The fantasy one did a fantastic job showcasing a father's love for his daughter and the musical episode was both funny and moved the characters forward a lot... I don't see how either of these could possibly be bad things but ig to each his own.
As much as I want every Star Trek show to now have one musical episode once a season –– just to annoy Subspace Rhapsody grinches –– I don't think it's funny enough for Lower Decks. I would love to see an episode where, like, the same anomaly happens but it makes everyone speak exclusively in limericks, or some shit like that.
Please stop with the musical shit.... it's terrible and only a handful of people actually like them.
Also who's been hating on mariner she's like the glue for this show. I thought the first episode was one of the best and the cold opening had me laughing like an idiot. I'm glad they moved away from the whole strong women should act like every other heroine out there, she's a drunken badass with a shit load of emotional baggage and it's perfect.
