how do I make normal image posts?
okay, so there are four areas to fill out when you're making a post using boost. up at the top, it says url, and there's a little "add image" button. when I add an image to a post that way, people have to physically click on it in order to see it, it doesn't just show up as an image post. at least not in boost
I've been ignoring the thumbnail option, I'm not entirely sure what to do with that.
then there's the body. I hit the little add image button at the bottom, it does the whole upload and everything, but then it shows up as a link instead of an image. I just want my post to be the title, and the picture

can't see an image from my own post, but only in boost
if I copy the link and open it in a browser, the image is there just fine. I posted it through boost, and I have not had this issue with other images before

any way to filter by language?
I enjoy the All feed, but I'm having to manually clear out a lot of foreign language communities. is there any way to do that automatically?

I Hate Webp
A good chunk of the time I can't share images because they're in Webp format. Is there a way to force a different format? I don't know if it's a function of the content or Boost.

Knowing "You Are Banned In This Community" Before Writing A Post/Reply
A suggestion for my favorite Lemmy client: I would love to know that I am banned in a community before finishing a huge post/reply and pressing "send", not after T_T

Is it possible to have higher resolution thumbnails?
Most thumbnails are useless if I'm trying to decide if I should click them and there's any text in them.

can't access some links or photos
so it's not just a boost thing, but you guys are pretty knowledgeable about how Lemmy works. I'll put the link below, but sometimes there are posts like this where the image or link or whatever it is won't load it in boost. I tried copying the link and opening it in a browser, and it wouldn't load there either. people from the comments can obviously see it, any idea what's up?

Issue: Navigating directly to a post on a muted community does not show comments
I browse lemmy primarily through the local feed and mute communities I'm not particularly interested in. When a different community posts a link to a muted community, the post opens without showing any comments.
Example: I have muted the no stupid questions community. Someone posts a link to a post in that community to best of. That post opens fine and shows the correct number of comments, but no comments are visible.

Please add zoom support when viewing gifs
The gif format is currently lacking pinch zoom support.
This makes it impossible to see details like text in larger images.

Boost: Open lemmy links in app
First of all, boost is really good. Thanks for this. One feature suggestion is to open all lemmy links in boost itself. Any lemmy link I click on, opens in an external browser!
-
Clicking on a link on the Post view is slow to open inside browser
Whenever I click on a link in the Post view, Boost takes up to 5 seconds to load up the page up in Firefox. Post view is set to "compact," but I tried others like "Cards 2.0" and "Cards".
I have "Open externally" set in the General -> Default browser settings. I set it to "internal browser," but that made no difference.
Firefox is set as my default browser. I then set the default browser to Vivaldi but that made no difference.
I used other Lemmy clients, and there were no delays.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
I'm using version 1.0.12 on Android.

Account migration
I don't suppose boost could add a "migrate to another instance" feature? π Given that Lemmy is decentralized, and account migration is a thing and up to users, having support in the app would be really cool. Or maybe it's already there and I just don't know about it?
Cheers!

"View the rest of the comments" only showing one additional contextual comment
When viewing a single child comment thread (ie viewing a response to your comment that is already a few comments deep in a thread), you are given two options at the top of the comment section, one to "view full context" of the thread you're in (expected behavior: give context up to the parent comment and show only comments in that thread) and one to "view full comment section".
As of now, at least for me, both options simply give me one additional parent comment above what I can already see (in my previous example, it would show the comment I originally replied to). To get to the full comment section, I have to press the option and reload the comment section over and over until I get to the parent comment, at which point "view full comment section" actually does what it says.

block keywords from post titles?
I enjoy being in The Simpsons community, but there is this seemingly unending trend of posting a random frame with the title "Guess the episode". it's not a meme, it's not interesting, and even if it were, it stopped being interesting like 6 months ago.
anyway, is there any way for me to hide all posts that have "guess the episode" in the title?

Add to the list of instances opened in app
Sometimes I come across links to communities or posts on instances that are not in the list of links the app recognizes as lemmy. Instead they open a browser tab. Given lemmys growing and decentralized nature it's unreasonable to expect devs to keep up with that. Please enable users to add to that ever growing list, at least for their own account. I understand that such a feature is may be far in the backlog or may never come at all, in the meantime I would be happy if you added the feddit.org domain to the list as feddit.de seems to be migrating there.
Workaround: Apparently it works with the
! community @ instance
links like [email protected] but not normal links feddit.org/c/ich_iel -

does Boost have tools for managing a community?
i understand Boost for Reddit had all sorts of useful moderators tools. is that the same thing with Boost for Lemmy?

Mark as read on scroll not working.
As stated in the title mark as read on scroll is not working and has never worked for me. Even on boost for reddit it never really worked. Anyone have any advice?

can I create a Lemmy community using Boost?
One of my favorite subreddits has no representation over here, so I figured I'd get one started. is there a way to do it through Boost, or do I need to go to somebody's website?
-
Multi-community post from the create post screen?
Instead of posting, then having to tediously copy/paste to different instances with similar communities, it would be nice (although potentially crazy spammy) to allow x-posting from one post. This may be less of a Boost idea and more of a Lemmy discussion, but if it can be enabled in Boost I thought that would be a nice addition.

how do I tell Boost to use a different instance version?
My understanding is the current version of lem.ee, hiding red posts on my feed doesn't work properly, but allegedly the last version does. how do I tell boost to use the old version instead?

Recently looked at posts
Where can I find the recently looked at posts? I am unable to find it...
When searching in settings I find a history option which I should be ablw to add to the lateral menu, however in the actual setting it does not show up...
Anybody have an idea where I can find it?

Crash when reading comments on a specific post
I'm able to consistently get a crash when I look at the comments on https://sh.itjust.works/post/20798332
I don't see anything that pops out as unique about it though. Using Boost for Lemmy from the play store on a Samsung S22

Videos unrequesred saving to boost folder when viewed?
Twice in the last week videos I have viewed have been saved in a boost photos folder. I didn't request to save or download them at any point. Is this based on the site, internal vs. external browser choice, caching or something else?
Obviously is prefer videos not be downloaded if I don't try to save/download them.

Hiding read posts stopped working
I have "Show read posts" disabled in the settings, but it just stopped working all of a sudden. Since yesterday I'm seeing read posts again.
I tried toggling the setting, clearing cache and switching instances, but no luck so far.
Anybody else who has this problem? Any idea how to fix it?
Edit: Looks like it's a problem with the new Lemmy version!

When should we expect Lemmy 0.19.04 support?
Hey @[email protected] , I suspect you're already planning to work on the new stuff added in Lemmy 0.19.04 soon.
Should we expect support for the new features in the near future or will it rather take a while? Just asking so we know what to expect :)

Backup filters/blocks?
Hey everyone,
Been using Boost for a long while now and I'm wondering if the filters/blocks I've made over the past few months persist when I install the app on a new device. I really don't want to see some communities/instances on my feed and does anyone know if this syncs with my user account? Is there a way to backup these filters I've enabled? Appreciate any response.

Can you retrieve hidden posts?
I have my feed set to hide posts after I've scrolled past them but it seems once they are gone they're gone. Is there a way to see things you've hidden if I want to revisit a post?
