Wouldn't development of ReactOS from a larger community ultimately help ALL OS's?
  • I think the bigger issue with the entirety of Linux as a whole is, getting everyone on the same page to make a distro that everyone can use and not be intimidated by. There's a distro for everyone, but there are still obstacles in some distros that people are going to run into, that'll make them turn back to Windows.

Whether it can't run a game they played, run a piece of software natively, driver support and maybe even features they thought were best suited on Windows than Linux.

  • Will Republicans try another Federal Right to Work attempt?
  • And how organizers make up cutesie names to name their treehouse clubs after.

Oathkeepers. Truthers. 1776'ers. American Freedom Party. Patriot Front. It just goes on and on. All of them bullshit, all of them are blanketed bigots, racists .etc bastardizing the names with what they think 'freedom' is all about.

  • can you be pure of heart again? if you've done bad things but became a better person?
  • Everyone is an asshole. It's about how big of an asshole you are or can be.

You're irredeemably an asshole once you've assaulted someone, have had a very lengthy criminal history, raped someone, sexually abused someone, abused children, abused any positions of power, murdered someone and any other heinous criminal activity I've not listed.

There's just simply a point of no going back.

  • Can anyone suggest/comment on any deals for cellphone plans or thoughts on T-Mobiles cost?
  • Buy an unlocked phone. Then, go see about trying Mint Mobile or MyTello. I currently pay $6 a month for a 2GB data plan and no minutes (currently, but I have Wi-Fi calling). The most you're looking to spend for an unlimited Data/Minutes plan is $25 a month through MyTello.

What I'm saying is - you're paying too much for what you're dealing with. Do yourself a favor and save. The only thing you should be paying for that's a little pricey is a decent phone.

  • Are you in support of UBI?
  • UBI is a great system, but I would want it heavily regulated. Because you just know and it's the truth, that a lot of people will sit on their ass all day and take advantage of it. This is a system that should be for those who're actually struggling.

And I say this because I've heard stories and seen it first hand, of people lying on documents and forms to get benefits that they don't deserve. You cannot introduce and incorporate UBI with the mindset that nothing can go wrong - because it could, if it's unchecked.

I take downvotes as an admission of guilt to my observations, thanks.

  • What am I doing with my life?
  • Life is just a big RPG. We acquaint with whomever, we deal with people who suck, everyone is an NPC until we find that one character. We level, we experience and we know our skills can improve or be hampered.

We then just die. But we don't get a screen that tells us anything because it's just blackness.

  • What will always be cringe-inducing to you?
  • I think I know what you're talking about. I do believe there's a time and place for anything, but just trauma dumping your life's woes somewhere like on a YouTube comment section, is probably not one of those places.

If you feel like there's nobody to talk to about it - write a blog or a journal entry. Dump your feelings and experiences there, then share them whenever someone asks you what's wrong. There are places and sites that are open for one to talk about these sensitive subjects to.

But there's just no reason to randomly do it on like YouTube comment sections for example. I see it nearly all of the time.

  • When someone is telling a story or about to tell a story, what part makes you think it's going to be interesting or boring?

Whenever someone has to highlight the fact that when they're telling a story from 30 years ago or longer, that they 'didn't have smartphones'. Like yeah, I don't expect someone from 1995 to have such a device and the closest things you've got were PDAs.

I just know it's going to be some old boomer like story that'll bore me.

What are some useful general maintenance tips can you give to people living on their own in apartments or housing?

So you buy a nice two shelf bookcase but it's wobbly and you know it won't hold much. I've recently gotten one and my solution was to put L-brackets on it. After installing about 8 of these brackets at the cojoining parts of the shelving, it is now completely stable and ready for use.

What makes life unfair to you?

When all of your exes get to happily move on in relationships that aren't you and you get nobody for extended periods of time.

While you're prideful in yourself to know that whatever relationship you get won't feel as tainted as theirs because maybe they're manipulative. The thing about it is that, I've tried being upfront, honest, detailed and everything to get someone with.

And I guess working on yourself and trying to improve aren't exactly attractable qualities.

What will always be cringe-inducing to you?

White guys saying the N word and being gangsta. There is nothing ever cool about a white guy pretending to be ghetto. Yes I'll include Eminem and I don't care if he's been given the pass.

What is something that you've found 'defeats the purpose'?

For example, you're cleaning a room, your home or your apartment. And you find it defeating the purpose to dust things and wipe them down because, dust comes back anyways and eventually. It might not be as bad as it was or as bad as it could be, but you'll always end up with dust and cleaning dust is just a grand waste of effort and time.

What scientific study are you waiting for that'll just shit on everything we've once thought to have believed in?

Like, we'll probably find out that eating boogers actually makes you immune to select illnesses or something crazy like that.

What hobby seems to have the worst hoarders?

I think people who are into crafts. They have all of these yarns, construction papers, various tools and stuff. All so that they can say that they have all of these projects in mind that they want to do. But they never do them so they get more crafting stuff and it just eats away storage until their place is practically consumed by it.

Does anyone think it's poetic that in 2024, Trump is re-elected similarly to the same way George W Bush was in 2004?

It's almost nostalgic, for the wrong reasons. It came upon me a few minutes ago to realize this. They go parallel with eachother that 20 years ago, people had the same exact defeatist reaction when George W Bush got re-elected when people thought he wouldn't.

Now, 20 years later, when people thought Trump wouldn't get elected again, here we are.

What are some of your pet peeves when on voice or the phone?

When you're in a call and you want to talk to someone or a couple people, but you're in a group with someone you don't particularly care for. So you have to sit there and listen to them overtalk and maybe you don't even like their voice. But you can't mute them or be rude so you have to waste time until they finally leave.

    5

What are you not nostalgic for?

I don't miss dial-up internet, I just don't. I don't even like the sound because it's just digital screeches and it's a sound that makes me cringe a little upon hearing it. Because I remember the times when I'd be listening to music with headphones with volume high and then that fucking digital screech just blares into my ears.

    I don't miss waiting 30 minutes to load a page. I don't miss a bit of it.

What are some unwritten rules when taking days off?

Mine is - DO NOT go to the building you work at. Like if you're a retail worker, it is not wise to go to the store you work at or the restaurant. Because they see you come in shopping for whatever reason, they'll possibly be on your ass about you being able to come in and shop but not work that day.

    22

What do you think the worst year was for your hobby?

Like X is the worst year for books or Y is the worst year for games .etc

    33

What pieces of software can you recommend that's free, efficient and does not bullshit around?

Notepad++ - This piece of software is a very advanced form of Notepad. Fuck that basic Notepad shit that Windows or any other OS gives you. This one is all you'll ever need for basic note-taking needs. But it does a hell of a lot more. One thing I love about it is that, if for any reason I put my PC to sleep, it crashes, power outage, I can run this again and everything I've ever written and no matter how many tabs - it's all retained.

AIMP - The definitive media player that you'll ever need for just playing stuff (music only, sorry if I mislead those thinking it can do video). Winamp and all the other software are just around for nostalgia (though Winamp has it's uses where you need it to play specific formats like video game music such as SNES with .SPC). One feature that attracted me to it was, it used to infuriate me when I am playing something and something crashes in any other media player. And you boot up that media player and you have to play your playlist all over again or that song from the beginning.

Not AIMP, if I accidentally close it, crash or whatever, I can bring it back up and it'll have the song or whatever on Pause so I can resume. Why isn't shit like this more implemented in software?

Why do people with lots of 'karma points' tend to be nothing but egotistical assholes?

Every time I get a snarky, rude and shitty response from a user. 9 times out of 10 it is from users with hundreds to thousands of pointless karma points. My best guess is that it has really all gone to their heads and because of their high count, they think they're speaking the golden words of the gospel with every comment that they make.

That nothing can touch them and that they're validated so they can't be argued against.

What video game company/developer/publisher loves shitting on it's fans?

My pick is Psyonix, the team behind the one and only Rocket League.

And why they're my pick is because they've been prioritizing elitist gamers over generally everyone of all skill levels. This is evident when you are penalized for leaving matches in Casual Mode that escalates from 5 minutes to even hours. Basically limiting and restricting your playtime on a game people had once paid for.

And I say once paid for because this game once had a price tag along with DLCs. Sometime a few years ago, Psyonix sold itself to Epic Games and flipped Rocket League to Free-to-Play or Freemium. They delisted the game from Steam and unless you had been accumulating anything before the delisting, you are SOL.

In the Epic Games version of Rocket League, you have to build back up everything that was once readily available when it was on Steam. Having to pick up common body parts, having to pick up decals, flags, wheels .etc

All of these are just one continual dump after another from Psyonix on the fans that truly are there to have a fun time and not be a foaming drooling tryhard of an elitist player.
