Nearly 40K new voters registered in 48 hours after Biden’s exit
  • I don't think most ever said only Joe could win. I, and others, believed that Joe had the best chance at winning. It's looking like we were wrong, which I'm happy with. Even if the very recent polling (showing her up 2 points on Trump, compared to Biden), and the large donation day hadn't happened or Kamala looked worse, I would still be happy Biden dropped out if only because once Nancy and other top democrats started to challenge Biden. its not a good look to have an incumbent being challenged in that way.

  • WYR receive $100,000 immediately in cash or $1.5 per every diamond you mine in vanila hardcore minecraft?
  • oof, it looks like you calculated 132k with a 60 hour work week. I guess that's not exactly the worst, but at 40 hour work weeks you're making 88,400 USD. I think that's still not too bad but it definitely changes the math quite a bit. if you're living almost anywhere in the world except for the top 10 countries in income, 88,400 USD per year is pretty good.

  • you can set your watch to it
  • Lol nah, just Russian bots acting like Americans. "Biden is too old, we need anybody else in order to beat Trump!", "Kamala is too black/isn't manly enough/isn't black enough/is too womanly to beat Trump!"

Or maybe they'll push the angle that "<candidate> was pushed down our throats by the political elite so vote third party/Trump to teach them a lesson!"

  • WYR receive $100,000 immediately in cash or $1.5 per every diamond you mine in vanila hardcore minecraft?
  • I'm not certain where it gets that 2500 blocks per hour which make it difficult to interpret (does that already assume getting supplies?) and it become more inefficient because I believe cave exploring is more efficient than straight mining for Diamond. Regardless, 132,000 is not bad actually.

Since I see this as, whether getting 100k now (taking into account 10% interest rate on that money per year, and the fact you can work a job) vs 132k per year in mining diamonds, I made the following table: It basically shows that if your goal is to make more money within 15 years, then the question becomes, do you make over 100k per year? If you do not, then within 15 years making diamond mining your job makes a lot of sense. Bonus, you will never be out of a job or get fired. If you can make over 100k a year or you want to make more money sooner (want to retire soon) then it starts to make more sense to just take the 100k

  • WYR receive $100,000 immediately in cash or $1.5 per every diamond you mine in vanila hardcore minecraft?
  • This may even be worse since the LLM is saying 10 diamonds per hour with the fortune 3 enchantment. That being said, is this true? I haven't played minecraft for a while and 10 diamonds per hour seems really low with no enchantments. Sure, there's more or less an upper limit to how many diamonds you can get in a map, forcing you to have to generate a new map and rebuilding your supplies (which slows you down) but for the most part, i can imagine you get a lot of diamonds in between worlds.

  • is it normal that I need to apply more sunscreen to certain parts of my body?
  • I know people that would easily get sun burnt on their nose. I suppose certain parts of your body would be more sensitive to the sun but I'm not certain what causes that. hoping someone with more knowledge and chip in.

I apply sunscreen to all parts of my body if I'm going out to the sun for long periods of time. I haven't noticed certain parts of my body being more sensitive than others either.

slight tangent: Dermatologists all recommend against tanning and especially recommend wearing sunscreen if you're going to be at a higher than 3/4 UV indexed sunlight for prolonged periods of time. It damages skin and encourages skin cancer.

  • Democrats Need to Wake Up From Their ‘West Wing’ Fantasy
  • Republicans were expected to grab both chambers of Congress, and own house by a huge margin. Instead they have such a narrow margin of control of the House, they actually couldn't get crap done, and removed their speaker of the house, had some 7 votes for a replacement before exasperatingly arriving at Johnson.

  • Bernie Sanders urges Dems to 'stop the bickering' and back Biden
  • Because Republicans fall in line. Republicans are on record saying if Trump ever gets elected president, it will be the death of the party. Now, those same people have orange paint on their lips from kissing his ass so much. They don't question Trump's crazy ideas or statements, because he's the party leader. Democrats don't do that, and at times it's good to question our candidates, I feel this is not that time.

We're 4 months from the election. The DNC convention is even sooner. No way can a new candidate become familiar with independents and gain their confidence in that time. This change needed to happen way sooner, which is the DNCs and Biden's fault for not encouraging potential challengers to Biden. Now, there's doubt in everyone's minds when if there were challengers that failed to compete against Biden, we would KNOW, that Biden is still the best.

People are only whining because that's easy to do. Constructive criticism is harder and part of that, in regards to Biden, is offering a solid alternative that everyone will like more than Biden, so quickly. Making ourselves look so disorganized, and adding to this negative headline is not doing us any favors, and Trump loves it.

  • Bernie Sanders urges Dems to 'stop the bickering' and back Biden
  • You do have a point that turn out Is important, but a potential replacement candidate isn't guaranteed to increase turn out, they could be worse. And they would only have 4 months to try to fix things, which isn't a lot of time.

Volaris website not working for others on linux?

For a while now, I've been unable to actually view the Volaris website while using Ubuntu 22.04 (In a previous version I believe as well). I've tried Brave, Firefox, and Chrome with the same results so I don't believe its browser specific (as most people use one of those 3 web browsers), which leads me to believe its Linux specific (as I doubt Volaris' website has been broken like this for over 2 years now).

The website seems to load some background images, but then it stops loading. I'm basically unable to interact with the website in any way. Sometimes I'll get a captcha to even access the website. The workaround that I have found was actually going into the inspector and refreshing. This make the website function again while the inspector is open.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

A month after most California fast food workers started earning at least $20 an hour, economists say it’s too early to determine industry impact. While some workers report improved quality of life, others see cuts in work hours and less income as employers adjust to more expensive payroll.

I’m glad this was passed. Only worry I have is that the the corporations will have the money to take a hit in California. Keep the amount of money they siphon from CA high, translating to higher costs to the CA businesses and, despite the fact that more of their businesses will struggle, use that as evidence that this law should be repealed.

Should I offer a more narrow salary expectation if the job listing already has a range?

I'm doing interviews, and I wanted to get an idea of what other people are doing. Say a position offers a pay range between 50-65k. In my interview with HR (first interview), should I try to provide a more narrow range? for instance, " Based on my skills and experience, I'd expect a range between 56-60k" Or should I just tell them the range offered is good for me and let them actually provide an offer? This is of course assumes the entire range is acceptable to me. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

How The DEA's New Marijuana Classification Could Affect California's Cannabis Industry

A bigger “tax break” (in the form of allowing these businesses to actually deduct expenses like other legitimate businesses) for these dispensaries should mean cheaper products, less struggling businesses and also less black market marijuana.

Better Clarity on Hidden Rooms -ShatteredPD

I feel like hidden rooms aren't very transparently shown in the game. Currently there are usually 2-3 hidden rooms in each area, with an additional hidden room for every floor that has "many secrets". This is all totally fine, except that its sort of hard to identify them, even as someone that's rather familiar with what they are. By identify, I don't mean to search for them, but to actually identify whether a room is a hidden room or not.

My suggestion would be that all hidden rooms share some kind of identifier. some suggestions would be:

    • uniquely colored door that, even if burned, has a different color so you'll always know that was an entrance to a hidden room

    • Uniquely colored flooring

    • Uniquely colored walls

    • Indications in the logs when you step into an area or floor ("you have found 1 of 2 or 3 hidden rooms in this area" "There is one discovered hidden room on this floor")

Hidden rooms can affect your rankings score so allows for easier ways to track that would be welcomed.

    What are your opinions?
