So it begins [Rule]
I used BaconReader for almost it's entire existence.
I started using it in late 2012.
You will be missed old friend 🫡
If anyone knows any Lemmy apps that are like BaconReader hit me up

I'm an Apollo user, but still. It's a sad night. Why am I so sad?
Maybe it's because I'm so lonely, and Reddit provided a bright little spark to fill the darkness. And it did that for like 16 years for me. And now it's gone.
RIP.
10 0 ReplyI feel you on that
It reminds me of the feeling of being pushed out of a community, it's not just like that but it reminds of that
We were strangers in the night drifting aimlessly, but drifting together.
Our line was threatened to be cut
We pleaded and screamed, only for our cries to fall on deaf ears
We've been left to the wayside, unable to drift with the currents we're used to
After some time we've found ourselves here
A new and unfamiliar place, with all new currents
It feels like our old currents, at times, but it decidedly different
Things flow slower here, the faces are all new.
We can make this our new current if we try.

Just dipping a toe into Lemmy right now. I'm using Connect for Lemmy on android, and it seems a pretty good model client so far. Some similarities with Baconreader, but not a direct lift.
7 0 ReplyRelay is still working for some reason
5 0 ReplyThat's weird and probably only temporary
1 0 ReplyInfinity still working fine
1 0 ReplyMy baconreader app is still working too, I've been checking it all morning. I can load posts and comments no issues. I've already deleted my Reddit account so I can't confirm logging in or anything.

I’ve been using wefwef.app, which is a progressive web app you can add to your Home Screen. It feels naive though.
5 0 ReplyI tried out wefwef and it feels wrong
Jerboa though feels pretty similar to BaconReader IMO and now that Lemmy 0.18.1 is out and instances are updating to it it's working great
5 0 ReplyMy understanding is that it was designed to work like Apollo, but I didn’t use Apollo so 🤷♀️
