Looks like a passive aggressive attempt at getting someone to take action, but it failed miserably.

Duolingo kills your family and forces you to beg for mercy in spanish

  No tengo nada*. It's very counterintuitive, but to say you have nothing you must say that you don't have nothing
duolingo wouldn't do that, it would start threatening your family

Happened to me as well with MyFitnessPal :D but I'm still back at it
I forgot to turn off auto renew for Duolingo so they got me for another year, and they still spam me with notifications. Chill, calmate, Tóg go bog é
All apps should do this.
- In my experience it’s only apps that support some kind of goal like Duolingo that do this to motivate you with guilt, and this might’ve been a glitch but i think it’s actually a fake-out. They will still continue to show notifications after this one.
