For real though, since I joined Lemmy (last Friday, 4 days into blackout) I probably spend as much daily time here as I spent there before blackout π but I'm enjoying it !
Same here, it took me a while to figure out how Lemmy works, but I think I'm getting it. Honestly I can't believe I haven't found out about this before now. Go fediverse!
Lemmy is the first platform I've come across that I'm actually excited to use in many years. Being federated and not motivated by profits (with all the tracking and selling of personal information that it entails) makes me feel like I'm not the product.
Yes, I can't wait to see where this goes! Lately I've found myself lurking and barely leaving comments on Reddit anymore, yet here I am on Lemmy commenting away.
I never thought of myself as addicted to social media, but I got more studying done in two days than I have in two months. It made me realize how much SM consumed my time.
Still figuring it out, but have liked what Iβve seen so far. I was wondering what I was going to do without something to scroll, Lemmy wouldnβt let my addiction go to waste!
I feel this so much. After day 3 of me joining I am barely able to keep up with everything going on , also life has beinf busy but still i didn't expect to get this buzzing so quickly.
I'm still trying to wrap around my mind about how this federated universe works. Like i know that I could access the content of this instance (is this the correct name?) from Mastodon and I did subcribe to a few lemmy instances from there but didn't manage to read any posts. Plus the thing that in Lemmy i use an account from another instance and I can read and post on everything but not by accessing it directly. It's kind of counfusing and I think this will be the greatest break to it's diffusion. Otherwise definitely better than Twitter/Reddit for sure.
Lmao I love the emphasis on "everywhere else" with Beehaw at the center as if they hadn't just defederated half of Lemmy from their instance including two of the ones displayed in the image (LW&SJW)
