Usually it's either the mods, ot the user being annoying people. Maybe you were too agitated and heated for a general purpose and casual community like asklemmy. Idk, I'm starting to make assumptions. I'd have to look at the modlog.
Edit: Done. The deleted comments have been purged, so I can't tell. From the few remaining comments I'd say you do things like swear and get hostile... So I'm not sure who's at fault here. Being overly confrontational isn't accepted behaviour in AskLemmy. You'd need to find a different place if that's what happened here.
For the context "Do we need administrators and moderators to manage our conversations for us?"
The modlog tells "Trolling/Sealioning".
You should be able to show your posts and comments (they are still visible to you even though the post was removed). Without that, it's difficult to give an opinion.
The AskLemmy post and many of the replies were phrased more like it was just bitching/moaning that all of Lemmy isn't some freeze-peach free-for-all rather than any kind of conversation starter.
OP, YDI.
I'm not gonna screencap the entire thread, but this gives you a picture since OP doesn't feel like sharing and wants to be all "trust me, bro, I was CeNSORed!"
OP is also alt of @[email protected] who was instance-banned for bigotry (I don't have the context for that one, that's just what the admin wrote in the modlog), and brought some great hits to c/ShowerThoughts such as "99% of the people here are dumb as a box of rocks"
Hmm. I linked to the removed post (as it appears in my user history). And it is visible to me. Is it not visible to you?
The modlog says "trolling/sealioning" for my ban. It doesn't say anything about the removal of the post. Or the removal of a some of my replies. So I can't get a link there.
People want spaces about a certain topic. It makes sense that people then "censor" things that don't fit said topic.
Even if that topic is "Be kind".
Just as with "free speech" in real life, online there are also limitations. If you disagree with those limitations, you have the freedom to go elsewhere. If you find that nowhere fits the kind of place you want to be in, make your own.
Just as people don't have to tolerate being around others mouthing off in their face, so to can they take steps to avoid/prevent that online.
In my opinion, people that can't fathom that concept are the ones most in need of that oversight.
Anyone can create their own instance at any time if they want.
Or most instances allow the creation of a community, subject to the instance rules.
People can say whatever they like inside of their own homes, it's when they go into other people's homes that they need to play by the rules of the homeowner, or else gtfo.
I haven't clicked any links here or looked at the modlog, I was just responding to your comment in the general sense.
