Why proton mail and proton drive not on fdroid?

TL;DR: It uses proprietary components (Google Mobile Services and Google Firebase).
- They should really consider ntfy.
- So it still works on my degoogled phone. I assume that means the google components are integrated?
  
  They are but they won't have the desired functionality. You won't get push notifications for instance.
- So it's making those Google firebase DNS requests.
  
  yes but netGuard blocks them :)
