This is so op. You can also use a grim curse instead, but it's rarer. Glyph of stone on armor compensates the low level for scroll dumping the ring (it was originally a Ring of Wealth)
I love a good broken OP combo. This one looks fun.
Armor isn't so important when you one shot all the things.
A memorable OP run I've had was with a +17 Vampiric Runic Sword with duelist the other day. Ascended with only a +2 plate.
I'd take tons of damage but it'd heal for 100-150 when using it as a weapon ability.
There are always 15 upgrade scrolls in the game, 3 for each dungeon theme. (Likewise there are 10 potions of strength, 2 in each group of 5 levels)
A few upgrades from the Troll Blacksmith quest.
If you upgrade something that's already >= +1...
Often enough, I start using scrolls around wherever the Blacksmith is.
Then again hoarding upgrades for too long can make it hard on other resources and ultimately make for a failed run. There's a balance to strike between upgrading now vs later.
Outside of lucky RNG and broken combos, I usually ask for +6 a few things instead of +18 one thing.
Thank you for your reply. The scroll limit is what confused me. The image shows a +18 ring but the axe is also +6. Is that because the ring at that level will cause higher upgrades on drops?
