Why is it not allowed to select a language when posting here?
This is what I get when selecting English as a language
The mods of the community may only have chosen Undetermined for the allowed languages for simplicity purpose, and some third-party apps don't let you choose a language when posting so you can't really turn that one off either without breaking something at the moment.

I think we have sorted this problem now.
Hmm, it's actually still not working for me. (I had separately reported this issue these past days.)
I could still only reply with this comment by leaving the language on Undetermined...
I recently tried around 12 hrs ago. Making a post with "English" did not give any error but got stuck at the Loading icon of the create button. The same post got submitted successfully when choosing Undetermined. This was with Firefox The same happened when I tried to choose "English" for this comment.
Doesn't work for me either. Tried some other random language and it didn't work either, so I'm assuming only "Undetermined" works.
I have now unselected ALL languages, including "Undetermined". Please tell me if this helps at all.
Maybe it's the instance I'm posting from, but it doesn't work.
When I joined Lemmy 7 months ago, everyone's default language was set to undefined and only undefined including users not logged in. The implication of that meant if users posted using any other language such as English, everyone not logged in or on a default profile would not see those posts. You had to specifically go into the profile settings on a computer and use the control key to select both undefined and English to see posts submitted in both languages.
