At a campaign event last night, Trump got bored—and weirdness ensued.
The election is in three weeks, and Pennsylvania is a must-win state for both Trump and Kamala Harris, but during a rally last night in Montgomery County, northwest of Philadelphia, Trump got bored with the event, billed as a “town hall,” and just played music for almost 40 minutes, scowling, smirking, and swaying onstage. Trump is no stranger to surreal moments, yet this was one of the oddest of his political career.
This kind of behavior would have resulted in discussion of dementia and Alzheimers if it was a Democrat.
It's just kinda weird to me to hold up this as a refutation to the idea that "both sides are the same" when this specific thing is purely about aesthetics.
It's not aesthetics. It's very obviously a mental issue. Almost certainly Alzheimer's/dementia. If Biden had done this on the campaign trail every media outlet would be calling it what it is.
It's so incredibly obvious to me and pretty much anyone with a functioning brain that there is no point in trying to explain it to you. It's very obvious where your bias lies here.
No, dancing doesn't indicate any sort of cognitive impairment at all. There's plenty of legitimate shit to criticize him for, this is just petty bullshit.
No we didn't. Deans campaign was already in the toilet. The scream was his attempt to get people jazzed about upcoming primaries he had no chance of winning anyway.
Too many 20 year olds read SCREAM LOST ELECTION! on a BuzzFeed article or some crap so I guess it's the truth now. But yeah, I was there, John Kerry was the onl viable candidate by then.
I don't just assume people are in cognitive decline every time they do something spontaneous. Besides, Trump is obviously unfit regardless of his mental state. I guess when you're fully in on partisan brainworms you just have to reaffirm at every moment that everything the other side does is The Worst Possible Thing in case someone doubts your loyalty or commitment. Honestly part of why I don't give a shit about appealing to that circle, because it seems really boring and narrow. The world is so much larger than that.
I wouldn't have thought anything of it when he was running for president.
Like, I said he was having cognitive decline because of stuff like this. Dancing at a campaign rally isn't a sign of cognitive decline, it's just making a mountain out of a molehill to have material to fill the news cycle. And I guess to "settle the score" or something, since liberals still seem to be holding onto this idea that calling out Biden's decline was somehow unjustified. If anything, you could make a better case by finding a clip of Trump saying something incoherent (not hard), but coming out hard against dancing just sounds like the bad guy in some boomer movie.
