Here's the bad news. It's not.
I guess what I was trying to get at was that it was at one point and that we could if we wanted to become that again. I wasn't saying our current military is anywhere near the U.S military in any way, shape or form. I understand, quite clearly, just how out matched we are.
I was only putting forward the idea (which I agree with you, on) that we should absolutely rearm and become independent of their technology. We supply them the critical materials for their military. They need it. Maybe we should rethink that (not a popular idea, though).
I don't think Canada should be basing their defense decisions on the opinion and thin skin of the American government. Trying to force Canada, in any way, to purchase F35's is fishy - not that that's happening, of course.
Canada's interests are for Canada. Not them. Also, maybe Canada should reboot their ventures into the Avro Arrow program again. That'll ruffle some feathers. Canadian engineered military = quite formidable, I think.
Ah yes, the good ol' days of Digg. I hope they can bring it back.
thank you for clearing that up.
I'm using librewolf. I'm not sure it's on your end. I think something else might be going on.
Just a simple little nitpick:
On the Nix/NixOS section of install, you type
Alternatively, for non-NixOS users, you can spawn a temporary shell with Managarr available like so: nix-shell -p managarr
nix-shell -p managarr works just fine on NixOS proper. I use it all the time.
More aware and cautious of what I buy / subscribe too. Cancelled all american run online stuff (amazon, netflix, etc.). Joined CBC Gem (and pay a subscription) in the hopes that maybe more content can be created. I also avoid American websites as much as it's reasonably possible; which is kind of easy for me anyway since I don't surf much anyway.
So, I pretty much only look to buy and participate in Canadian only stuff and European stuff.
I get this when I click on the demo. Uh, I don't know why.
I mean, there's LibreWolf, too.
As someone who never really looked at Assembly - maybe don't just assume all of us knows what 'GPR' is. For those maybe wondering, it stands for "General Purpose Registers".
All in all, this is very well written.
%3 tariff on all US goods. Then add another %3 after 4 months (why? I dunno, this is all stupid anyway), then again 4 months after that! Slowly cook it. Use the extra money made to put towards supporting the workers that lost their jobs. Put additional money towards the 2% nato target - maybe make it 4% instead.
Does this sound stupid? Instead of all out matching their percentages, slowly and methodically eat away over time, targeting the red states. Then eventually, when we hit around 25% on US goods from red states, start again with the same strategy with the blue states. Why not? It's all stupid. But, if we're going to take a massive hit, might as well stave off the blow for Canadians for a while until we can find alternatives and maybe get manufacturing going and more trade.
'fix' .. 'rig' .. same thing, right? right?
Ignorance is strength, something something
Shouldn't we maybe ... I don't know .. be putting that money towards the defense of Canada? Or, maybe more railways to the northern cities like Thunder Bay? I mean.. Armstrong has one, why the fuck doesn't Thunder Bay?
Or how about putting that money towards our health care? That would be nice.
