New rumor? You mean rumors as soon as it was unlaunched. Nothing new about this.
Audiobooks are great for commutes. If you got the version narrated by Andy Serkis, be prepared for him to really dig deep into the songs and rhyming.
Currently reading A Desolation Called Peace by Arkady Martine. Liking it so far.
Last finished A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers. Didn't enjoy it as much as The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet.
Yep, love it. https://app.thestorygraph.com/profile/hybridhavoc
Yeah I'm trying to look at this and understand almost anything from this and it's actually impossible.
I think I found the solution but I don't like it. I signed in to the Xbox app for Xbox Cloud Gaming. After doing this, the Gaming page in the hub no longer shows my recently played Xbox games in that place. This means I still don't get the Apps and Devices row to be the default row. Plus that Xbox app is terrible for me, the cloud gaming literally unplayable in that the Play button for any given game stays disabled even after taking like 10 seconds to just "load" the button.
I did manage to trick it into having my Xbox Series X source on the main home page instead of the Game page though so that's close to a win.
Samsung S90C TV - Remove Tutorials From Gaming Tab?
I recently purchased a Samsung S90C. Been loving the TV, but one of the things I've had an issue with is the large tutorial buttons at the top of the Gaming tab in the hub. I didn't need the tutorials to begin with, and I watched them all anyway, hoping that they would go away after being watched. That did not change anything.
This is mostly annoying because when I navigate to that tab it defaults to being on that row of the UI, but I will never intentionally select any of those items again. If I could just get rid of that row, then it may default to the next row down which is the row I actually care about on that screen.
This is frankly bizarre. I don't understand how you can even write that and reasonably think that the platform hosting the hypothetical defamation should have any liability there. Like this is actually a braindead take.
Some good titles in this batch. Started playing Lightyear Frontier last night.
Not how it works. Also your use of "becomes a publisher" suggests to me that you are misinformed - as so many people are - that there is some sort of a publisher vs platform distinction in Section 230. There is not.
Repealing Section 230 would actually have the opposite effect, and lead to less moderation as it would incentivize not knowing about the content in the first place.
Spiritfarer. Probably one of the most touching games I've ever played. What Remains of Edith Finch. Stardew Valley. Firewatch.
Sadly it has been more than 12 years we've been waiting for the next book. 🙁
Great recommendation. Extremely easy to get into, great compelling character voice, and most of the entries in the series are very quick reads.
IMO this is a wild recommendation to give to someone that doesn't do a lot of reading.
Looks interesting, but of course we all want to see more.
I feel the need to be pedantic here: the first amendment has nothing to do with speech on private platforms.
It's a sandbox. My prediction is that it could be fun for up to an hour.
Back in 2001 the recruiter at my high school very nearly convinced my girlfriend at the time to join up. She was not cut out for that life, and did eventually back out.
Clark was raised on a farm. It still checks out.
If you enjoyed The Expanse then I would recommend Revelation Space by Alastair Reynolds.

NDAs and contracts keep most artist's work uncredited and locked away, forever
Excerpt from the article:
> In the last five years I’d say I’ve only been allowed to show maybe 5% of my professional output. I have had an unfortunate string of projects get cancelled and the work just gets locked away forever after that.
Theory about Nynaeve in the White Tower
Spoilers for season 1 of The Wheel of Time on Amazon Prime, and books 1 and 2.
I wanted to write up and share a theory I have about season 2, based on two shots in the season 2 trailer. I grabbed these two stills from the shots in question.
To me, this scene seems interesting for two key reasons. I have been trying to reconcile all of this, and so this theory addresses that.
- The clothing Egwene and Nynaeve are wearing. Egwene is in white, and already in an apron as well. Nynaeve, however, is wearing what looks like her old Two Rivers outfit.
- The vibe I get from Egwene's hug. This looks either like a "I haven't seen you in so long" hug, or a goodbye hug. I'm leaning goodbye.
The Theory
After arriving at the White Tower, there is going to be immediate pressure for Nynaeve to take her Accepted test. There may be some sort of event to demonstrate her power, or there may not. What I think will happen is that Nynaeve is going to be struggling with her block. She will be afraid of her power, still carrying around her grudge over the alleged turning-away of the old Wisdom, and just generally stressed out over the whole situation.
I think with all of that going on, she will refuse to take the Accepted test. I think what we are seeing in this scene is Nynaeve saying goodbye to Egwene because she is leaving the Tower, planning to go home. Of course, that won't be the end of it.
Before she makes it out of the Tower she will be intercepted by Siuan (or perhaps Sheriam) and there will be another motivational discussion of some sort. I also think it's very likely that what she was told by the old Wisdom about being turned away was not true, and that the truth will be revealed to her here.
As a result of this conversation she will change her mind and go forward with the Accepted test.
