How China is Building an Open National Chip Plan Around RISC-V
  • China could be a major driving force behind this architecture which will help them compete on the the global stage. Don't see any other way to be honest. Other than maybe invading Taiwan... but there are no guarantees the Semi conductor industry there will survive if they invade.

  • 8BitDo releases adapter for using modern controllers on PS1 and PS2
  • It will absolutely add some latency compared to the original controller but whether it's perceptible to you or any other human being is another matter entirely. I find 8bitdo sometimes have terrible lag in some of their devices, but it could be down to shoddy firmware and sometimes get patched later, like with the SN30 Pro for Android which was unusable before firmware patches.

I'm personally just semi-sensitive to lag, but for serious gaming I will always go wired for the psychological edge. I will get this regardless because wireless controllers are amazing for casual gaming.

I'm actually more interested in how much lag the USB-C passthrough introduces. If that can be down in the sub-3ms range, that would be amazing.

  • Just found out about the Wipeout Pure & Pulse hacks

I’m gonna try them and will report back later :) thanks for setting up this new community.

[Feature Request] Auto-select text field after selecting reply.
  • This of course only happens if you have an external keyboard attached as the software keyboard will only appear if you tap the text area.

It’s definitely frustrating because on a PC which is where I use wefwef mostly

  • [Feature Request] Auto-select text field after selecting reply.

When replying to a comment or post, a modal pops up for you to input text... I wish that the textfield would get focus automatically instead of having to tap or click the textfield first.

Are posts supposed to be exactly synced across instances?

I’m very new here but I decided to check and compare the posts in a community on lemmy.world (where I have my account) and that same community on the instance where it resides and the posts were almost all completely different! Is that how it’s supposed to work or are they supposed to be synced? Sorry if this is a noob question, I’m new here
