I think the standard approach is free downloads and ads for revenue. I've seen places offer a "premium" download at a faster speed too and/or more concurrent downloads.
I'm down if it's a fight to the death.

Really great point, but also there are a lot of working class people who would find the cost to move abroad prohibitive, so this recruitment method works surprisingly well unfortunately.
