I suppose I can try that option, but I guess these kind of services should be blocked by them as well.
Maybe because I use librewolf with most browser fingerprinting and tracking disabled? I normally got like 3 to 5 captchas before I could login to discord.
Yeah exactly. What are they even verifying? They don't have my phone yet, so anybody could put their number there and 'verify' the account. I suppose it's to stop bots, but still, some other options should be available.
What triggers it? I'm currently abroad, so I suppose that might be the reason. But not really willing to give my phone number to discord. Is there no known workaround?
It's kinda bothersome that so many online groups are using it (or facebook).
Discord now requiring phone number to login?
Seems like discord is asking people to verify their accounts with phone numbers nowadays. I guess I won't be using it anymore? :🤷
Didn't know that, now I'll definitely have to look into it, thanks!
Might be a good option. I would have to protect myself though, I burn so fast standing outside. Does this require a white card?
Does this require some experience with forklifts or something?

How to find a temporary job / part time job while you are recovering from depression/anxiety?
I've been struggling with anxiety and depression for several years now, and finally got to a point where I can take care of myself day to day.
But i'm still looking to start earning some income to pay for living expenses and therapy, but I can't seem to find something that's not full time and long term. (Especially when looking for something higher than minimum wage)
Anybody have tips on where to find jobs or projects like this? (My background is in software engineering, but I'm willing to do anything, perhaps even more interested in options that don't require too much computer work)
Pretty impressive that you are still using this as a daily driver.
I do feel there has been sometime lost when moving to the current iteration of smartphones. Typing is slower and many phones have become a distraction rather than a useful tool.
I have a smartwatch currently. But I sometimes forget to charge it, which means that I won't be able to use it for a while. It does help with noticing notifications though, I especially like that the alarms are silent and only noticeable by me.
Thanks, that's a good option! I didn't know you could run it automatically in the morning.
And by filtering it for a specific calendar that I use for important events, it can be for just those events I need it for. Thanks!
Thanks for the suggestion. I will try it out. Too bad I use an iPhone as my daily phone at the moment, I don't think there is something equivalent to this for iOS
That's what I try to do. But sometimes I forget setting the alarms and then I start double guessing myself. Checking my calendar anyway even though I already have alarms set.
I was looking for a way to automatically set alarms based on calendar events, but seems like I'm out of luck...
How to keep track of events and reminders without being sucked into distractions
Hi all.
I've been having trouble remembering events and tasks because I often don't notice the notifications of my smartphone or computer when focused on something.
How do you all deal with this without continuously checking your phone and laptop?
And when I check my laptop or phone, I often stop doing anything else because I know something is coming up. And I often also start browsing or doing other things which was not my intention.
This is what I would like to try. Just setting some time aside for experimenting.
But of course I still need to eat something everyday, so it would be good to have some staples to make when I don’t have time or some experiment failed.
I think that’s a good idea.
I actually like taking recipes and trying to reduce them to their most generic form. Like a curry, or a stew, or a salad. Most of the ingredients can be substituted, but the basic steps are the same.
I think it would be good to try more simple recipes. Eggs are great and I like to use them in many ways.
I think part of the issue is also how I’ve been brought up. My parents always made different meals every day and always wanted to make healthy and tasty food. But they never taught me how to cook.
So my standards are kinda high, but my actual skill is not that great.
I was recommended to get diagnosed by several professionals, but unfortunately the waiting list in my country is 2.5 years.
I went through several books and talked about it with my parents and family. Which made me realise that I match practically all criteria.
The problem is mostly having access to good support. Having people to talk to who’ve had similar experiences helps a lot. But the anxiety prevents me from talking about it. Even to my own family members.
Eating out can be nice, but it does not necessarily save any time. And often it feels like a choice between either an expensive meal or something rather unhealthy
I’ve always had difficulties using recipe search websites based on ingredients. Often I’m still missing one important ingredient, so i can’t make the suggestions. Or they try to find things with all the ingredients you fill in, which is not always useful.
A lot of ‘meals’ are also just side dishes, like honey glazed carrots or something. Which is not really something I would consider a full meal.
What website do you use?
Maybe this should be enforced by law. At least for digital purchases which are basically a license.
The only things you can easily give to others are DRM free things, like the games you can buy from GOG. But in that case it’s also easy to copy.
I'm stuck researching things instead of actually doing anything
I want to learn how to cook properly and make simple recipes and don't spend too much time looking for what to make everyday.
So I start looking into some recipes I can make with the instant pot that we have at home.
But then I can't find certain ingredients in the local supermarket, or the ingredients are too expensive, so I start searching for other places to buy cheaper produce. Then I also start looking at what recipes don't take too much time to make, and read about meal prep and such, and find communities and websites. And then I look at local classes for learning how to cook, but they are way too expensive and I'm not sure whether they will be any good, etc...
And so I spend hours and hours researching all these things, but I never actually start cooking or go to the grocery store for ingredients.
I'm now feeling tired and have no energy to actually do any cooking anymore. And I just have no clue where to get started.
It seems like I'm stuck thinking of how to do something the best way possible, instead of actually trying something. But when I want to try something, I have no idea where to even start.
Anybody experience the same sometimes?
