OnePlus 11 long-term review
  • I got used to it pretty quickly, though every now and again I'll accidentally take a screenshot hitting power and vol down together.

Not enough to be annoying and usually only after a couple of edibles..

For context, came from an iPhone 13. Can't even remember now where the buttons were on that one.

  • Addictive
  • Holy shit. I need to explain this to my partner tomorrow when she's up. I've been struggling so hard to find the words to explain how my timing mechanism for things she asks me to do works. Thank you!

We're using a shared calendar with reminders which is really great. Until I dismiss the reminder, putting it in the later pile....

  • What are some alternatives to bars that stay open late for folks that don't drink alcohol?
  • That brings me back. Many nights at Perkins playing magic, shadowfist, shadowrun, homebrew ttrpgs.

We tipped well, management and the servers loved us. One night a waitress was having a particularly bad night and said just once she'd like to pour a drink on a customer. I volunteered and got a free meal out of it.

  • Wetsuit Temperature Guide
  • Came to say the same, my last dive was 64f/18ishC in a 5mm wetsuit with hood and reef gloves and I was toasty and warm the whole time. My 9 year old snorkeled about for about a half hour in a 3mm suit in the same water without getting cold.

It's not always down to body composition either, which I've seen before. I definitely wear my love of cake on the outside, while my daughter is a fit and healthy weight for her age and height.

  • Game of Thrones was nearly "destroyed" by pirates illegally streaming HBO content
  • I think we're going to start to see music services going that way soon, for the first time I've started to see that songs in my primary play list are now not available in my region.

I admit I dont know what songs yet, am on a road trip at the moment, but it makes me worry that it's going to get worse.

  • If I stop drinking does that decrease risk of cancer?
  • Years ago, you'd have been spot on, they are at least closer to neutral. Now they give my sibling money to buy it.

Might have to do with the the fact my sibling was convicted of conspiracy to distribute, and distribution of cocaine... Weed is a better compromise.

They know I use it for sleep, and sometimes it helps. Clearly not tonight, as it's 0411 and I'm not even tired yet.

  • *Permanently Deleted*
  • That's really strange to hear, I've run it in on a pi zero, until it died, a 4b, and now on a pair of orange pi zero 2 I think they are, without any issues I didn't directly cause by computing drunk.

I'd give it another shot if you're up for it, it's worth it in my opinion. I'm also running wireguard on it, with clients on all our phones so we take that protection with us everywhere.

  • Are there really that many terrible drivers out there?
  • Where I live, absolutely. Everytime I hit the road I see at least 5 idiots turning left from the far right lane, driving half the speed limit, running red lights, having no idea what the right of way is or how intersections with only one stop sign work.

And I don't drive that much, in 2.5 years I've put 20k miles on, 3k of which were road trips and Im not counting those drives in my idiot count.

  • RARBG dumps taken down from Github
  • Came here to see if anyone else had, my fork was taken down as well. Not to mention the file linked in the email for the notice doesn't exist so I can't even see what was claimed. I had planned to fight the takedown since at the time I forked it, there wasn't nothing infringing that I saw.

I've contacted github for a copy of the notice, we'll see what happens.

  • Looking for answers to simple Minecraft questions
  • Minecraft has the ability to discover local network games, my daughter and I have played that way off and on for a while. We've played both on PCs, and one on PC one on phone without trouble. As long as the versions are compatible, they should be able to find the local game.

Edit to add a screenshot of the multiplayer screen, it's trying to find local games but there are none running currently :
