A Fallout 2 3D remake is being worked on by a fan
  • It will focus on total conversions of the main games. So Miami, Frontier, that mod that's set in Oregon, the Russian one for Fallout 2 (can't remember the name ATM), London, the Van Buren Remake, etc. I've never heard of Fallout 3 in OpenMW but I'll be including that now. That sounds neat.

Problem is I made this list awhile ago and never checked if the projects were active or not. I'll be checking that. But its gonna be anything I've seen that I though looked cool, no matter inactivity or how early in development.

I'll even throw in a mention of similar games like Ashes 2063.

  • Ah sure, why not. I already have the excel sheet done. I'll throw something together.

  • I have a list going. There's about 15 major fallout fangame projects right now. I've considered writing an article because there's so many. Hell Fallout: Vault 13 is another one that got some buzz about 2 weeks ago.

  • Anyone know any games similar to the Spyro GBA ones? Isometric collectathons? I need more like this.
  • That looks cool. Not what I'm looking for but interesting. Reminds me a bit of the MegamanEXE games.

Collectathons are just games (usually platformers) where you collect a bunch of stuff. Spyro you got the items in each level, gems, chests, sidequests (that give you items) and so on. There's a lot of stuff to collect. Banjo Kazooie is another collectathon.

  • Yeah this looks right up my alley. Man, the GBA really had all the isometric platformers.

I wrote an article about the 3 games and just how good they are. Imo, they're extremely underrated. I really wanna play more games similar to it but I can't find much in the way of isometric collectathons(?) at all. Looking for any suggestions. Apologies if this isn't the right spot. GBA is retro right?

Imo, the 3 games are extremely underrated in the Spyro series and feel like completely different games.

Here's the article. It explains more specifically what I mean by these games. Website: https://charinusraps.neocities.org/pages/writing/gamenotes/spyro Medium: https://medium.com/@charinusraps/spyro-season-of-thunder-7969d3a4dcee Substack: https://substack.com/home/post/p-144166959

I know there's the main Spyro games but I'm looking for 2D ones, basically the same deal as the Season games.

Anyone know any other games similar to the Oracle ones? Already have a few (Anodyne, Lenna's Inception), looking for more.

The Zelda games on the Game Boy and Colour are unique within the Zelda series as a whole. Strange plots, enemies, music, mystery and even gameplay plague the three games. Hell, in Link's Awakening half the enemies are straight up from Super Mario Bros. And the oracle games come with novels and feature interconnected password systems, animal companions (who vary depending on your own actions) and areas unique in any other Zelda games (Subrosia). It's almost as if these 3 games exist in a void unto itself.

I recently watched a playthrough of the Unreal remake of Link's Awakening. Those plus the Oracle games are imo, some of my favourite Zelda games. Anyone know any games similar? I alreayd know of and love Lenna's Inception and Anodyne but I want more. I wrote an article about Link's Awakening and what I call Lozgbc games with a few more listed. Anyone know any other ones I could add?

Nintendo launches lawsuit against the devs of the Switch emulator, Yuzu.

Nintendo claims that Yuzu actively assisted in piracy of Tears of the Kingdom. They say that Yuzu violates Nintendo's copyright by decrypting their games to run.

They also claim that "Nintendo also has technological measures on the Nintendo Switch console itself, including additional layers of encryption, which prevent users from unlawfully accessing or modifying the console—including to procure the prod.keys—and from accessing or copying games stored on the console or on a cartridge inserted in the console." - From the actual lawsuit which you can read here: https://www.scribd.com/document/709016504/Nintendo-of-America-Inc-v-Tropic-Haze-LLC-1-24-Cv-00082-No-1-D-R-I-Feb-26-2024

Nintendo claims that Yuzu spoiled Tears of the Kingdom for everyone (not listed as a damage in the lawsuit this is just something they've added on).

This lawsuit bears similarities to the Bleem v. Sony though I'll let you draw your own conclusion if this is comparable.

Commaful is a website where you could post short (really short) stories to with pictures. I've used it in the past to post my lyrics to my music but otherwise didn't really interact with it. Aside from poetry and short stories the website also contains a ton of shortform fanfiction.

I'm assuming a full backup wouldn't be that big (it's literally just text and some images + a lot of people using the same stock images). I just downloaded all my stories and it came to about 9mb (against 20 or so stories).

Alone: The Horror Begins, the first ever J2ME Horror game.

Alone: The Horror Begins is allegedly (more on that later) a J2ME game developed by Centrescore, a company I can barely find any information about. This company is hard to track down. After scouring their old website I still can't figure out where they were even located. I guess somewhere in the U.S.A. but even then all the info I have is circumstantial. In their lifetime none of the games they made were that popular. They never quite made it out of obscurity. A cursory search indicates their most successful game being "Surviving High School '07", a coming of age group of minigames. Alone was their only foray into horror games before their disappearance. It appears that in 2006, Vivendi Games purchased Centrescore, eventually bringing all their IPs under that Vivendi hood. Under the Vivendi hood they were dissolved and all of their games forgotten. Makes you wonder why Vivendi even wasted the money acquiring them.

This game was apparently released in November 2005 to various digital storefronts. Some claim it unreleased but there's at least one link that proves it was public and for sale. It was, at some point available for sale on EasyEdge, a now discontinued mobile phone service.

During the search for this game a lot of inconsistencies came up.

This game is known as a J2ME game, a simple web search will back me up. But looking at that EasyEdge page one can see none of the phones listed were actually J2ME phones. They all ran BREW, a whole separate system. For comparison it's like saying a games was made for the SNES but it was really a Genesis game. BREW was on some whole other thing.

    Here's some links:

https://web.archive.org/web/20071106212646/http://easyedge.uscc.com/easyedge/GameDetail.do?1697 - EasyEdge page, confirms it was released.

https://web.archive.org/web/20090420025521/http://www.centerscore.com/index.htm - Centerscore's old page. More proof the game was released.

I ended up writing a full article about the history, attempts at recovery and link dump of all the places the game was mentioned. It's a damn shame too. J2ME horror is a super underrated genre and this looks like it would be a fun game. You can read the article here:

If anyone has any idea of where I could find this, or leads, people to contact, etc. Do get in contact with me. I feel this game has to exist somewhere still. Hopefully one day someone finds and posts it. I'd love to play it.

Finished 3-South the other day. Pretty good. Wasn't expecting much but it managed to be charming in it's own way. Felt it ended perfectly as it did. Not interested in a reboot or revival. Lord knows it would be impossible. My headcanon is that Joe begrudgingly accepts Sanford and Del or at least better understands how to be 'king of the idiots' and takes over Barder. (assuming nobody died in the final episode)

Hope they eventually release the final 3 episodes in better quality. Made it hard to watch them.

Gonna probably watch Gary & Mike or Home Movies next.

Anyone else seen 3-South? Or enjoyed that era of adult cartoons?
