  • No, but i do remember one of the options on the front page always being porn no matter what you searched. My middle school wanted us to use Yahoo search instead of google for pictures because it wouldn't show Rule 34 content.

  • Russia lacks 'numbers for strategic breakthrough' in Ukraine: NATO
  • Nuclear weapons will lose all their remaining international support, as well as NATO launching full conventional strikes against every Russian military asset in the Black Sea and occupied Ukraine. Russia knows that use of tactical nuclear weapons will result in the total collapse of the Russian state, which is why theu are aonky going to use them if NATO troops coming knocking on the doors of St. Petersburg

  • Russia lacks 'numbers for strategic breakthrough' in Ukraine: NATO
  • Because they have strategic interests across the globe. From the Russian perspective, taking control of Ukraine would be great, but preventing them from intefrating into the EU and NATO is the real focus. Ukraine can't take back the occupied lands, and Russia will be able to l outlast Ukraine in an attritional war.

  • There must be some other word for a tiny human, but I can't place it...
  • Theu have limited space. The palm trees are just inteded as background. They could have made the people muuch shorter, but that would have made it difficult to give them more details. The workers are the main focus, so they are drawn/chiseled on first and then the palms were added to show an activity and fill in the background.

The kid looks like that because children are crazy hard to get right in art

  • The market will for sure solve this
  • Americans essentially pay for our insurance 4 times.

we pay more tax dollars per patient than ay other country

We pay hundreds per person per month in insurance premiums

We pay all healthcare expenses until we hit our annual deductible

We they pay a co-pay percentage after all treatment beyond the deductible.

Everyone knows it's a broken system, but people are adamant that anything else would be communism or would make you lose an election.

  • Dutch woman, 29, granted euthanasia approval on grounds of mental suffering
  • Idk, i am torn on this. Obviously people have had depression with suicidal tendencies since the dawn of humanity, but i feel like most modern suicides come from the failings of oir current systems. I am Zoraya's age and have struggled with depression and finding a reason to live for well over a decade. Euthanisia should be available to anyone with a terminal condition, but she still has her whole lofe ahead of her. It saddens me that the state has decided it is better to let her have a painless suicide rather than address the issues that make her life no longer worth living. To me there is no excuse for otherwise healthy adults in the prime of their lives to feel hopeless, but that is the society we have collectively decided we want to live in.

I'm glad she will be able to die on her own terms, but there is no excuse for this to be her only option. Our society has failed Zoraya and countless people like her.

I have no doubts about her sincerity to die. I just think that a better society would have been able to find her a reason to live. She is absolutely in the right here, and has done nothing wrong. It's her government which has failed her.

  • Sucks to suck!
  • Looks like the picture was taken from the passenger seat of a car with the ceiling coming unglued from the roof

Nvm, that is the top of a car, not the windshield wipers. Looks like some sort of awning.

  • Get rid of them.
  • You should probably ask yourself why you don't have the option to actually reduce harm. Republicans jave no problem getting their representatives to do what they want. So why do Democrats struggle so much?

  • Get rid of them.
  • All the average person can do is tell their representatives at the local and federal level what they expect in exchange for their vote. "Vote Blue no matter who" doesntlead to amy actual change unless you leverage your vote for actual policy changes. MAGA is the open admission of what the GOP has been pushing the last few decades actually realized. Republicans who didn't offer what the base wanted were replaced by people willing to push for that reprehensible agenda. Pressure you representatives to actually protect human rights and replace them if theu won't do it. The people have actual power, progressives have jist been conditioned to not wield ot since that threatens the power structure in Washington.

Week 18: Tropical flavors - vegan pineapple/mango/macadamia biscotti

Sorry for the infrequent posts. I lost my job and am trying to move out to Cleveland. Add some other personal stuff to the mix and it has been a rough month for me.

But these are a gift for my best friend's birthday this weekend. She's an absolute coffee fiend. I'm not big on tropical flavors at all so I'm not really impressed by them, but here's hoping she likes them.

Notes from baking these, but my powdered egg substitute was not useful. I had a lot of issue gettting the dough to come together and ended up using way more oil than is usually necessary for biscotti. They al holding shape, but they were definitely more crumbly than i was originally hoping for.

    Week 15: Turkey - baklava

Been meaning to make a baklava for a few months, and figured this was the perfect time to do it! The phyllo dough took me a bit to figure out, but once i realized you just need to starch the shit out if it while rolling and just keep stacking it, it worked out great! My bottom layer is fucked, the middle one a little thick, but the top layer was absolutely magical

Just voted in my first union election

Started my first union job right before Thanksgiving and elections are this week. Results will be in this weekend since contract negotiations start on Tuesday. Everyone is gearing up for a big fight and i am nervous, but excited.

Anyway, they had a trailer set up in the parking lot and the steward flagged me down to get over there and vote.

Week 11: AI or random- "Piped" cocoa butter cookies from Sally's Baking Addiction. Failed

I have never used any LLM's, and didn't fee like starting, so i went with a random recipe from my go to baking site. Unfortunately the batter ended up WAY too stiff and nothing i did allowed me to pipe these suckers out, so they just sorta ended up as regualr cookies, but delicious none the less.

I do think piping would have made them better though. The center of the cookies wasn't nearly as good as the crispy outsides, and piping them would have really increased the surface area.

The view from my aunt's home in Yorkshire

I'm American, but my mom is a Geordie. We always visited my aunt when we went to England and i thought her living right next to a castle was the coolest thing ever.

    Week 6: Japan - Okonomiyaki

Sorry i am way late on this one. I asked my uncle in Japan (he's American, just a 65 weeb currently backpacking through Japan with my aunt for their retirement) for advice on something to make. He was currently in Hiroshima and told me to try making this local street food. Unfortunately i didn't realize how hard it would be to get some of these ingredients in rural Ohio, but i finally got everything for this recipe. luckily there is an amazing little Asian grocery store in Findlay that hooked me up with everything i needed and i am incredibly happy with how they turned out!

My bagels turned out not so great for cream cheese, as you really need to make the hole in the middle massive, but they were excellent for homemade pizza bagels! Made a great lunch for my and my neighbors's kids!

Originally i tried doing lemon-blackberry muffins but they were awful and not fit to share. These mini loafs are lovely, although they probably should have come out of the oven 5 minutes sooner. The lemon glazing on top really seals the deal on these tasty snacks

Week 4: seasonal ingredients - Rhutabega gratain

So I'm gonna let yall know right now that nothing but potholes has come out of the ground alonng the shores of Lake Erie since November. Seasonal ingredients here means whatever you're great-grandpatents could keep in their cellar through the winter. This rhutabega gratin has gruyere cheese, dried thyme, garlic, whipping cream, and vegetable stock with a bit of turmeric powder to really let the unique flavor of the rhutabega shine. It was absolutely delicious, the rhutabegas were perfectly crisp and moist, and it makes for a perfect side dish one a miserable winters day like we are having.
