Privacy concerns with DHCP (DHCP fingerprinting)
  • Most modern operating systems randomize the MAC.

that doesn't seem to be uniform behaviour. but i think we agree on the merit. if you are this paranoid, you just don't use networks where you don't have control over the local segment.

    [admin@MikroTik] > ip arp print

  • Privacy concerns with DHCP (DHCP fingerprinting)
  • Your router always knows your Mac address, no matter how you got your ip assigned. And yes, you can use it to identify the client - that is why it is there. This whole post is nonsense written by someone who doesn't really understand what dhcp is or how it works. Long story short, don't look for privacy on local Ethernet segment :D

  • why isn't anyone calling for Trump to drop out.
  • he is under no obligation to have a name at hand. that is what primaries are for. not having a name at hand doesn't make biden best possible candidate, or even passable one.

    Ah, there it is.

fuck off (you are on my blocklist now, don't bother crafting elaborate answer designed to just piss me off)

  • Germany’s first African-born MP to stand down after racist abuse
  • someone else pointed out in other comment that he is 62, i guess that is a moment where you might want to reevaluate how you spend your remaining time. it is a shame he had to do it, but good luck to him.

  • If I got big enough that Earth could fit in the palm on my hand, could I destroy it by squeezing it very hard?
  • it is worth noting that density is not the only factor. wet sand or mud will also have high density (not as high as earth, but still), but your ability to crush it will be drastically different.

can you use tools in that scenario? do you have fix point available? can you take another planet and smash them together until one of them breaks? 😆

  • Germany’s first African-born MP to stand down after racist abuse
  • he literally did accepted it when he stepped down. that is what accepting "it" means in this case. it is the difference between words and actions.

and again, i understand if he is scared for his family or something and it is terrible, i am merely speaking to the logic of his statement.

if he said "it is with deep sorrow that i must now, in face of political terrorism, step down to protect my family" - that would be powerful message. saying "we don't accept it" when you are clearly accepting it just does not make sense.

  • Germany’s first African-born MP to stand down after racist abuse
  • We cannot simply accept this.

unfortunately by deciding "to spend more time with his family" he is doing exactly that. i understand it is not easy situation for him, but the rhetoric does not make sense.

  • Is This Really How It All Ends?
  • i haven't yet read the article, but i hope that you don't think that argument looks like "lets accuse everyone who sees a problem in biden of supporting the other side, without having any evidence about it".

i hope you are not going to whine much after this negative reaction.

  • have i destroyed my cpu?

hi. i have broken my cpu by incorrectly plugging it into the socket (socket 1200). is it slightly bent in two different corners, as seen in the photos - https://imgur.com/a/Id3LH3T

at first i wasn't getting any reaction from the power button at all. after realizing what happened and correctly repositioning the cpu, the motherboard now starts, , fans and harddrives spool up, but i am not getting any signal on the on-board graphic card.

was anyone in similar situation? am i done and do i have to throw it away? is there a chance to fix it by forcibly bending it back?

    thank you for any tips.

    !
